I have a feeling Visa is going to pull a repeat of a month ago. Hit around 74-76 hold for a few days before people start getting back in and driving the price back up to 85-86 range again. The real question is, is it ready to bust through that 85-86 pricing.

I think we may see a break through on that 85-86 level when the earnings are announced the end of July. Till then we may just ride this rollercoaster

No opinion but buying some American Express at this price.

ONe of the firs thing that people stop paying is thier credit cards, and Visa is going to eat a lot of that.

Id stay away from amex.

Amex does its own banking unlike visa and mastercard!

Id be very worried with the way financials are behaving as of late on anything with banking attached to it.

Visa is not like AMEX.

Visa simply does the transactions, the banks that issue Visa cards are the ones that take the hit if someone doesn't pay. Amex just recently started letting banks issue cards with the Amex brand.

I don't own AMEX, VISA or Master Card. But do regret not getting into Master Card when it was at $45.:(

Currently I'm to leverage, so I just can't take any more bets, even if I'm sure VISA will hit 100 by this time next year.

buying more

robfantasy 06-11-2008 08:23 PM

id like to see it go to 100 next year =)

its going to be up and down before earnings, after they blow earnings out of the water I see it in 90's range

Would like to have SweeT's opinion, is he loading up?

I was thinking about getting in tommorow if it hits 75-76 a share.

ztik 06-11-2008 08:51 PM

If the market starts to rebound I think it'll go way up. People will buy in at this low price.

Just not sure when the market will bounce back up. We need some good news..

Yes, I am....but remember I am not looking for a quick score. I am hoping that it will hit $150 by the end of the year....(I actually predicted the end of the summer, but that might have been a bit optimistic).....but it would be OK with me if it took 2 years or more to hit $150 as I am buying it as a stock to hold onto for sometime. Kind of like my older family members did with Home Depot and Coca Cola stock 20+ years ago.

I have "X" number of dollars deposited into my brokerage account each month and I have a buy order for V with every dime of my monthly deposit until it reaches $90 and I have a sell order at $150....so if it answers your question, yes, I am still hot on Visa ;)

DISCLAIMER: I lost more than the GNP of some small third world countries in the stock market in the early 2000's so I may not be the best guy to ask stock advice from.

Got in at $60 and just doubled up yesterday at $79. Also own January 120 calls. I plan on holding this stock for years.

On a side note, they just announced today they'll be paying a quarterly dividend.
