Since everyone is expecting the worst in this industry right now...

Do you think any sponsors are seeing this as an opportunity to shave a bit?

I mean we'd all just blame the tubes, the gas prices, economy, summer, free porn, torrents, etc etc etc.

Ratios can double and nobody would be surprised.

I've also seen some programs ratios go completely lifeless, while others have remained solid like it's business as usual.

Just a thought.

Also affiliates will naturally react with: faster updates, more hours of work, and more dedication to their business. All good things for affiliate programs.

who is expecting the worst? Business booming with our cams.....

aico 06-11-2008 03:43 PM

not expecting the worse here either, actually do quite well thank you very much.

Even if you're not being affected, you'd have to have some pretty big blinders on not to see the posts here day in day out about people's sales drying up, and ratios increasing. It's happening for some people in the industry right now, for sure.

find what surfers dont get for free and promote that...Blond hair, blue eyes, big boobs, and bad ratios

Kinda funny when XXXJay says sales are down 60% and the first thing people come up with here is that everything is normal.. Just not the case.

eightmotives 06-11-2008 05:01 PM

It's the same old story, the truth is a great deal of people don't want to admit that they are hurting. Instead they rather ignore the truth and act as if everything is moving along just fine. Everyone knows that things have slowed down. Instead of dodging the truth you should be discussing ways on how to remediate the issue.

papill0n 06-11-2008 05:02 PM

no shaving going on here

Some people are hurting.
Some people are uneffected thanks to niche, markekting, customer base, whatever.
Some people's business grows every year.

We make more money every year, and have been. Ratios remain solid.

But we are not trying to compete with all the PHAT big pimpin lambo driving bikini clad women tossing your salad while leaving your mansion on your private jet ballas.

:2 cents:

I tried to start a thread and instead of discussing it or even debating what I thought they chose to flame. Typical head in the sand approach.

Things are getting tough, why is obvious. We are not convincing enough surfers to spend $30 on what we are offering. The answer is the tough one.

I'm lucky I'm on the edge of launching a site 500 other people don't already have and another 500 can't copy tomorrow. Yes I know you all have exclusive content, problem is it's often no different from the next sites exclusive content and most scenes on a site blend in together.

We devalued the product we sell down to the lowest common denominator to concentrate on sending more traffic. Then we compare our marketing x product to MacDonalds WOW what fucking Einstein thought that one up?

Because you now see the results. We needed 10 to get a sign up, then 100, then 500 and today some dream of getting 1-1000. And the answer is?

Send more traffic. :1orglaugh

Look at who, what and where it's converting well and work out why some sites appeal to the surfer more than others. Their might be a common thread. Or it might be the site is under promoted. Or it might be the porn hits the nail on the head. 2008 the surfer is KING and unless you sell to him sending more traffic is no solution.

Fundamental question, why would you help / bail out a competitor or potential competitor?
