So what is going on with the adult biz!!!

Three threads about big and well trusted programs and producers not paying up money this week ..Is this normal or are a lot of programs really struggling and are tying to save every penny...pretty scary when you are an affliate, you dont know who to trust. I am seeing the other side to the adult biz now :(

freek01 06-13-2008 01:52 AM

Well I have my own paysites and I am doing only 40% of what I made last year. And that with the same amount of traffic.

I guess I am not the only one.

Hate to say this but this is nothing new. Royal out of the blue hardcore ass fuckings have been part of this business since shortly after the very first few checks were supposed to be cut over a decade ago.

Hell do you know how many just left the business with a shit load owed and never paid?
How many billing companies folded up and just left everyone on the hook?
How many times a large or "top notch" company has gotten away with totally shafting the little guy just because the little guy was not known?
How many will buy you drinks and even meals, pretend to be your best friend and then jack your content and set up some site behind some fake names or hidden whois info?
People that you think you can trust who will outright duplicate your shit or just steal your ideas?
Number of piece of shit affiliate reps who will try to look good by checking in on a affiliate that is doing well and telling a piss poor affiliate what the good affiliate is doing?
Programs that will trace back affiliates traffic sources and cut them out of the loop if they have any way to do it?
The list just goes on and on.

You have been in the biz a long time so you have a much better idea of what really goes on behind the "curtain"
I am now starting to understand why there are so many rouge affliates/scammers in this game now:(
No wonder the adult biz is in such a state affliates dont trust program owners and program owners dont trust affliates.
Do you think it is worse now than say 5 years ago?

Yes, it is cool with adult traffic.

I am affiliated with them and am working with them on some huge promotions. They have been in business for over 12 years and they are not just all sports either - they have a full online casino, as well as an online poker program.

:thumbsup

I can say it usually is not as flagrant due to technological advancements i.e. bypassing affiliate for their traffic.
I also think it is a bit more common now on a smaller scale just due to the sheer number of people operating as sponsors, specially with 3rd party aps that make them responsible to handle payouts instead of it being done by the processor.

I suppose I would be a bit jaded though (many maybe are that have been in it long). When you were taken for a grand or so back when a idiot could throw up a free site and make a thousand or two either before the end of the day or when your free hosting account was killed just hammers in the point of how fucked it really is and was going to be.

Of course greed or just bad choices can also make for a series of some very bad choices. Some also try to hide behind a TOS, which is not the be all end all of an agreement. Many forget that just because this is a world wide medium that certain laws can not apply to them just because for instance they do business with me in my state.

Oh and despite the flack some get, when your taken for some cash be it 10.00 or 10,000 it is the same principle wise. To many get made fun of or harassed when they bitch that so and so owe them a hundred bucks or some shit. That really needs to stop and people need to grasp the idea that money earned is just that and the amount does not matter when it was taken from you.

Thanks nice read, I have been pretty lucky with the sponsors I promote as far as payment/support is concerned and even though I do not earn huge amounts I have always been paid. But it is very true what you say it dosent matter whether it is $10.00 or $1000.00 it is still money that the affliate has worked for and if a program does this to one affliate I wonder how much money they are actually making from say 100 affliates, it all ads up no matter how much it is.

this month sucks so far - apart from the way too many chargebacks I see quite a few "glitches" in my accounts

rayadp05 06-13-2008 04:15 AM

I don't know about other sponser programs but the one that I run for my paysite which is True Amateur Models has always paid my affiliates every week and on time. The program payments are issued out through CCBill and if you are interested in promoting high quality amateur content then be sure to check out True Amateur Cash.

As far as a drop in sales, that has not affected me at all. I am getting just as many sales as I have always had. In fact, the sales still contiue to just go higher and higher as time moves forward. :)

I shoot all of my own exclusive content and the webmaster program pays out 50% in commissions. There is a 10% webmaster referral and lot's of free hosted galleres to promote too. Here are a couple of samples. Many more are available after you sign up with the program. Hardcore and softcore are both available for promotion.

Yeah I understand

I feel sorry for both program owners and the affliates..

Oh in regards to being late on payments if they are not pure CCbill or Paycom, i.e. checks do not come from them.

If you get epassporte payments from sponsors do not be so rush to judgement if a payment is a tad bit delayed or more than a tad bit every so often. Unless the program floats a large amount in their epassporte business account, every so often a wire to fund epassporte gets delayed or ends up in some form of wire limbo. I know our checks go out on time every single period and cashiers checks at that, however I can not say the same about epassporte payments every period.

notoldschool 06-13-2008 02:54 PM

It has taken years of trial and error to find out who the good proggies are. When I say good, I mean that convert and payout, not that they are popular and fly banners on the boards.

Good info for the newbs. Its a bitch to load and payout thousands a month with epassporte with the limits and shit.

Very true I have had late payments but I got hold of support and they sorted it out for me. I can say I was a bit paranoid at first and I did not know if I was gonna be paid but I now know that I will be paid even if its late from this program, But I guess this is all part of the learning curve that comes with the adult biz, Talking about CCbill I had a check from them today which I wasent expecting and I dont know what program its from..lol so it just goes to show that there are good programs out there that pay you even when the affliate is not keeping an eye on it
