cranki 06-14-2008 05:55 AM

VeriSexy 06-14-2008 06:26 AM

on my other pcs.. nod32

potter 06-14-2008 06:32 AM

Klen 06-14-2008 06:33 AM

Only nod32....

tupakball 06-14-2008 06:34 AM

avast is great try it.

CDSmith 06-14-2008 07:11 AM

I used to run Norton and all it's extras on my old system. On this new box I now use AVG exclusively,

so far so good.

geedub 06-14-2008 09:45 AM

nothing :)

nosey 06-14-2008 09:53 AM

using pctools.com "PC Tools AntiVirus" and "ThreatFire" because there Free and get the job done :)

Scott McD 06-14-2008 09:54 AM

Kaspersky :pimp

Babaganoosh 06-14-2008 09:54 AM

nod32
Frequent updates, very easy on system resources and it's one of the top performers. The only others I would trust would be Kapersky or Bit Defender but both take up more system resources than nod32.

Emil 06-14-2008 09:57 AM

Avast.

It's free, take little system resources and it works great.

GrouchyAdmin 06-14-2008 09:59 AM

Linux. It's just easier.

Windows-wise, AVG 7 was pretty nice, and AVG 8 seems to be perfectly functional.

jakethedog 06-14-2008 10:01 AM

Macscan.....

?????????????

Kaspersky seem to get a good result in pretty much every test I've seen. Do you think there's some backdoor in it or what? :P

We all did at one point. Most of us learned our lesson. :winkwink:

AVG Free Edition

http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download-...s-free-edition

Why? Because it's light (doesn't stall your OS while it updates) and it updates very frequently, a couple times a day sometimes.

It configures itself with the Windows OS and shields email, etc...

Because I've never gotten a virus, while many people I know who don't use it have.

I don't know why I would/should buy the paid version, but that might be because their marketing dept. is weak... but that's no reason not to use the soft lol.

Zuzana Designs 06-14-2008 12:44 PM

I went with AVG Thanks everyone :)

Bhunter 06-14-2008 01:11 PM

AVG Free here too.
Last software version comes with many good features, a bit too much actually now I can't receive files trought ms messenger.

brandonstills 06-14-2008 01:36 PM

I found it always slowed things down. Plus windows has a habit of degrading with time. I made a disk image with major apps installed and stored data on a separate partition. If I had any problems or suspected anything I would just restore the image.

DateDoc 06-14-2008 01:37 PM

nod32 - never had any issues and is pretty light

GrouchyAdmin 06-14-2008 01:38 PM

Using an operating system is so passe. I used a FreeDOS boot disk to load debug and started calling int 26 to write raw code to the start of the disk. I do this every time I reboot the computer, which is why I post in spurts. I have the complete TCP/IP Complete, but I keep forgetting about the nuances of signaling high the BCM5906 on retry, because the other Tigron3's don't require that for their PHYs.

QFT.

NOD32 FTW!

pornask 06-14-2008 02:09 PM

AVG

been with them for 5 years and reliably took care of every threat. Simple to use, user friendly and updated frequently. Would never consider any other AV soft. I'm using paid version though.

quantum-x 06-14-2008 02:11 PM

I don't run one, and I don't get viruses :D

Due 06-14-2008 02:18 PM

I use NOD32, seems to do the job well and doesnt try and take over my entire computer
