i get this error when trying to open an avi in procoder 3

unable to open windows media source file. i downloaded gspot to see if it was a codec problem, but it says none are missing and the avi itself plays just fine.

i looked around on the grass valley forum but didn't find a whole lot. any ideas or other people who've had the same problem?
