Just wait until the government steps in and financially saves the mortgage industry with more of your tax dollars just like they saved the auto industry years ago.

they are all connected to Barrack Hussein Obama... wait for more to come out...

gleem 06-18-2008 09:00 AM

at one point my friend a mortgage broker was saying that they were being pressured by the company to give out loans and were told to give out loans to anyone that knew how to sign their names, and they didn't even have to say they had jobs or any money or a way to pay them back.

that's why we are in trouble..

McCain campaign co-chair, former Texas senator Phil Gramm, was a banking industry lobbyist all the way until late 2007. He's been advising McCain in the same area that he lobbies on behalf of banks for. He helped write a speech by McCain on his economic policies regarding the mortgage lending crisis. Dont know who this guy is? Maybe this paragraph will put his place in history more solidly in your mind:

"After Gramm passed a law easing regulation of energy-commodity trading, California experienced a sharp run-up in energy costs. The energy-trading company Enron was blamed and soon collapsed."

McCain has hinted that this asshat could be tapped to be his Treasury secretary! I mean holy shit!

McCain has already outright expelled 4 lobbyists from his national campaign staff, has kept Gramm (hoping you will not read the news of course), and has told his remaining campaign workers who are still lobbyists to not advise him on the same subjects covered by their lobbying work. Uh huh...

Lets be clear: Gramm worked for banks, he was a paid lobbyist to seek what the banking industry wanted our government to do, at the same time he's been advising McCain on his banking regulation policies and helping him write speeches to you and me. Is this ok with you?

Gramm successfully lobbied congress to ease mortage lending regulations on behalf of his bosses: the banks, resulting in mortgage lenders who only needed to know you were a living human in order to qualify for a loan. And he's John McCains national campaign co-chair, and it's been hinted that McCain could appoint him secretary of the treasury.

I mean really. The dots are all right there in a row, just connect them. McCain is counting on you to remain ignorant. He's counting on you to not do your own homework before you decide how to vote. He's counting on you to remain an idiot. Wake the fuck up.

Yea, sweetheart mortgage deals is your problem ... No doubt it doesn't help, but the issues run so much deeper than coddling politicians, which has been the norm since there were politicians.

A lot of dems are involved in this esp Dodd and Obama... go figure.. You dont need lobbyists when you have already been paid off.

Whats Obama's link to the mortgage lending crisis? I ask so I can read and study. I've never heard it or read it yet.

Actually, I have a soft spot for Phil Gramm, he was one of the few Republicans who was serious about balancing the budget, and saw the immense value of a balanced budget (in 1999 so many people were employed, people in Los Angeles were being cold called for jobs).

Sherry and I didn't find many mortgage brokers who would just take our names, but we found way too many who wanted us to have an accountant forge paperwork to get us through.

I looked one agent right in the eye and said "You just had me sign a document saying I was telling the truth under penalty of perjury. Now you want me to commit forgery?" we fired him promptly and ran right into another agent wanting to do the same thing.

Countrywide didn't throw anything at us, but after we got our house, they keep sending offer after offer. I followed up one direct mail offer only to get questions like "what's your social security #?, how much do you make?" If they already knew who I was, why would they ask silly questions like that? And of course, my answers would also change the offer.

I admit, we're not very happy with our current mortgage either, and we're getting out of it as soon as we can.

If you're looking for a house, contact Operation Hope. Even if you are well off, they can help you with credit issues, grants, and better loans.

hey buddy, you gotta watch/read other channels of media... NBC news and NY times suck....

Tom_PM 06-18-2008 10:42 AM

I watch and read lots of news. I am asking what Obama's ties to the mortgage lending crisis are? Can anyone point me to a source? If NBC and the NY times are "suck", then you choose :)

theres more.. i just dont have the time to search...

Tom_PM 06-18-2008 11:46 AM

You couldnt turn on TV (MSNBC, CNN, FOX) without seeing that James Johnson quit from Obama's vice presidential vetting team the day the story broke.

I'm not sure it's on even nearly the same level compared to the actual lobbyist who got congress to ease the very regulations that regulated the mortgage industry.. who is STILL working for McCain. Who is the same jerk who helped deregulate energy paving the way for Enron... I mean I GUESS it's a "tie", but the guy quit as soon as the issue was raised, and he's not and never was the national co-chair of Obama's campaign like Gramm is for McCain and he didnt help write speeches on the economy or advise Obama on the mortgage industry... I dunno, but I dont think it's apples to apples.

Anyway, who knows what Obama will be like as president, but there's no doubt what McCain will be like. And that's McCains problem IMHO.
