Republican Badge unreal (pic)

If this is true this is very fucked up :2 cents:

Sold at a Republican state convention

http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.c...Button0001.JPG

While a number of speakers -- such as Railroad Commission chairman Michael Williams and Mike Huckabee -- have praised the advance of Barack Obama and what it means towards a colorblind society, at least one vendor hasn't gotten the message.

At the Republican state convention, a booth hosted by Republicanmarket was selling a pin Saturday that says: If Obama is President will we still call it the White House.

There were other pins that weren't necessarily conveying the positive, inclusive, united front that has been portrayed during the convention. One said, "Press 1 for English. Press 2 for Deportation" and another, "I will hold my nose when I vote for McCain"

Fetish Gimp 06-18-2008 09:07 AM

Instead of the White House it will be called Da Crib. As in "Let's go hang out at my crib nigga"

Scott McD 06-18-2008 09:10 AM

What chance have we got of teaching kids that skin colour doesn't matter, when adults behave like this. This whole election seems to be based around colour, rather than who is the outstanding candidate. Sad...

Point at the retarded rednecks wearing buttons like this one, and make fun of them in front of your children. Teaching kids that racists are generally complete and utter morons should easily steer them in the right direction :2 cents:

I find this offensive. But what I find equally offensive is Obama or any other person talking to the "black community" the "gay community" "the white community" and so on, like the rights of people are derived from what group they belong to. That kinda speech is divisive, destructive and play the "us vs them" card so we only look at the faults of "other groups" and not the faults that lie within ourselves. :2 cents:

gleem 06-18-2008 09:23 AM

I get offended when people talk about "white man" this and that.. we are the new minority and I want the term "white man" taken out of the everyday language cause it's a politically incorrect term.

Isn't it also true that painting all racists as "retarded rednecks" is furthering a sterotypical prejudice? I can assure you that I've never met a retarded redneck, but I've heard some seriously fucked up racist comments from people in suits and ties and corporate functions in my past.

I've seen similar comments about Clinton supporters, calling them "hillbillies". Equally offensive.

I'm not painting all racists as retarded rednecks, just the ones wearing this particular button. They're the KKK-supporting, "white pride" t-shirt wearing, high school dropout type. To see that kind of racists in action, watch "Louis Theroux and the Nazis", a rather amusing documentary.

I do call all racists complete and utter morons, though. That's not a stereotype, however, but a judgment based on their own actions.

To further define the specific type of person I'm talking about:

Copy the link and replace [censored] with the word Nig ger (without the space, capital N), which gets censored by GFY.

Bryan G 06-18-2008 11:48 AM

Doesn't surprise me. Pretty tame by their standards.

This is nothing just wait until the election really gets going. Sadly racism is very much alive and when times get tough like now, people tend to latch on to a group of people and blame them.

Elli 06-18-2008 12:12 PM

That's just awful. The republican party needs to come out publicly and disown the folks selling and wearing the buttons.

undersoul 06-18-2008 12:17 PM

it's just plain stupid

Race, sex, and religion.

A lot of people in the states are idiots and vote based on everything other than actual policies. Every successful politician in the US plays the Christianity card and voters soak it up for some reason. There is a huge base of voters in the US that vote primarily on how Christian the candidate is (or how Christian they say they are). Is blind faith really a quality people should look for in a leader?

DatingGold 06-18-2008 12:28 PM

I wouldn't try wearing that in Stockton

A phone number listed for Republicanmarket.com and Alcox went unanswered.

The Texas Republican party, whose platform is often far to the right of the national GOP, has been in hot water over diversity issues before.

In 1998, the Log Cabin Republicans, the nation's largest organization of gay Republicans, was denied a booth at the GOP state convention in Fort Worth and likened to the Ku Klux Klan by a Texas Republican Party spokesman.

"We don't allow pedophiles, transvestites or cross-dressers, either," then-GOP spokesman Robert Black said at the time.
