Whats the Real difference: tgpX, Smart Thumbs, comus thumbs
Whats the real difference between these scripts?
they all are based on productivity? I know Smart Thumb has 3 options for rotation: lastclicks, average, random What does each one of those actually mean / which one is good to use and why? I started a tgp/mgp...but im pushing traffic from my other sites to this one. I will not be trading traffic. Which one would be good for me? Why use script that are based on productivity? why not just have all random thumbs? Sorry for the noob questions :helpme |
If the script puts the most clicked thumbs on top, the chance that the average visitors stays and clicks on your site is higher. More clicks is more visitors to your galleries (and trades if you use them) is more money made.
I have no experience with nowadays scripts so I can't really say which one is better :) |
thanks for the info....bump

TGPX is configurable based on a templating system like probably other scripts. You can have it display pretty much anything you want, any way you want, based on whatever formula you want.

I still want to know which TGP Script is best and why
Extra Question i have below... Before I started the TGP i was using a page that looked like a TGP(Just 50 Thumbs). And I used to make it go direct to the sponsors Tour with my ref code. And i made decent money. If now im using a real TGP and send to galleries, do you think i will make more or less money? Do TGP's give away too much for free? will this hurt my sales? Am i better just directing my traffic to the sponsors tour pages? Or its a proven technique to take visitors to galleries is more profitable? |

If you send direct to sponsor all the time, you'll find that no one will bookmark your site as it has nothing to offer. :2 cents: Here's a BONUS idea: Create and host CUSTOM galleries (not stuff in the FHGs) and link to the sponsor join page to improve your CTR/Join ratios - that can work as well. |

the thing is my traffic doesn't come from other TGPs...so the traffic is basically new to TGPs...so would it be ok for me to use FHG's? Why are FHG's not good to use? Is it because people might of seen them already? or FHGs are not made good? Whats the real reason? |

FHGs are over promoted. Let's say a program has 30-50 active affiliates, most of the solo girl and smaller programs only have about 10 FHGs, some have alot more but lets just look at industry averages here. Soon as your whale affiliates get word of a new program, they get passes and FHG links to "beta" test the program - they like to throw around that beta test word, but it's an excuse to keep whales happy and keep other smaller affiliates out. So the content is already out there to a smaller degree, then they open it up to the general affiliate base, post it around on forums and get the word out. You have about two weeks from that date to get your links up and your traffic exposed to the new site, after that, it's saturated and basically useless. You'll get some sales, now and again, but for the most part, everyone who regularly buys has already seen it and bought. This is why custom content in galleries is important - because you need to resell it back to the surfer and tease them with the other stuff they can't see on the tour or in FHGs, or on other sites (your competitors). The TGP game is nasty and it's not easy to make gobs of cash but it does make my car payments for me on a regular basis so i'm fairly happy with playing around in it. |

Well FDA, theres a few types of TGPs...
Fake TGPs, Regular TGPs and TGP2 So whats a Fake TGP? Well simple, it's loaded full of FHG galleries that go right to sponsor, or basically your entire TGP doesn't allow for anyone else to submit a gallery into your TGP. What's the benefit to you? Well all your traffic goes to your sponsor FHGs, and doesn't leak out to anyone else, so you have the best chance at converting your traffic to sales. What's the downside? Well, you'll get no inbound links, so you'll need to work harder at working towards more inbound links, possibly through hardlinks, but that will be about it. Regular TGP You take other webmaster gallery submissions, review them and then post their galleries on your site. So what's the benefit to you? The recip link placed in the gallery, this helps your inbound links and Google pagerank because the gallery maker or "submitter" will link directly to whatever URL your script is set to check when the gallery is submitted, usually you'll see little buttons or text at the top of a gallery - that's what i'm referring to. Another benefit is you get to see what's new out there as well, so you can visit the site and sign up for the program yourself as well. The downside of course, is any sales from YOUR traffic on your site, goes to them, but then again, you need to weigh the value of using this method. TGP2 (Credit: theadultwebmaster.com) Currently, TGP2 guidelines are few and simple. First guideline - TGP2 submissions must offer no more than five clickable thumbnail images per page. A clickable thumbnail image is defined as a thumbnail image that is linked to a full-size image. Fewer than five is acceptable. Second guideline - a TGP2 submission page may have no more than twenty thumbnail images in its entirety. Remember though that only five of those thumbnails may lead to a full-size image. The rest must be unlinked. Third guideline - there may be no links to standard TGP sites on a TGP2 page. TGP2 webmasters do not want to help surfers find standard TGP sites. The trick is to keep the surfer on TGP2 sites until that surfer has made a purchase on a sponsoring paysite. Fourth and final guideline - no exit/enter consoles or auto-bookmarking scripts. These final rules are intended to make TGP2 sites more enjoyable for the surfers who use them. The goal is to keep them coming page to TGP2 sites and away from standard TGP sites. At this point there are likely quite a few of you reading this shaking your head and thinking things like ?it?ll never work.? The common criticism of the TGP2 concept? That somebody somewhere will continue to build TGP sites and steal all of the surfers. To a degree that?s indeed true. There will always be standard TGP sites? but that fact should not paralyze adult webmasters from seeking to limit the damage. TGP2 has the backing of key players in the adult entertainment field, including sponsorship programs, free site hosts and other services needed to make money with a TGP site. Look for these sponsors to stop accepting TGP traffic in the near future. Look for free hosts to start denying service to TGP gallery makers. As TGP2 continues to grow, making money with a standard TGP site will prove more and more difficult. |
