Does anyone have a VBulletin license

That they are willing to sell, or hell, give away? I'm in need of a major upgrade from phpBB.

d-null 06-19-2008 11:47 AM

with updates and all wouldn't it be better to just lease it?

Jens Van Assterdam 06-19-2008 11:47 AM

lease is the way to go..

V_RocKs 06-19-2008 12:00 PM

I think Lensman has a license...

uno 06-19-2008 01:02 PM

Yah I think I'm going to breakdown and either buy or lease it. I just thought someone on here had one they weren't using or have previously used.

opulence 06-19-2008 01:03 PM

Buy or lease, well worth it either way

uno 06-19-2008 01:31 PM

I'm sick of this phpBB crap. Sigh.

The Software is licensed only to you. You may not rent, lease, sublicense, sell, assign, pledge, transfer or otherwise dispose of the Software in any form, on a temporary or permanent basis, without the prior written consent of Jelsoft.

Nookster 06-19-2008 01:39 PM

Buy for sure...leasing makes you pay MUCH more in the long run. Well worth it. Hell, you even get a free hardlink on a PR5 page (for non-adult site). :)

Thanks, I did not know that. I thought the licenses were transferrable.

If you buy it and just pay for updates, it's cheaper in the long run if you plan to keep the site a few years.

VB is likely the best bet, but seems Simple Machines is coming on strong.

what are you hating about phpbb?

CyberHustler 06-19-2008 09:00 PM

I have had none of the problems with phpbb3 that I had with phpbb2. I actually can't complain about phpbb3 at all.

They are... I just did it a few weeks back, you have to pay like 25$ to make sure you have an active license or something forgot what it was for exactly then you just email them and they will do it.

JamesK 06-19-2008 10:00 PM

Get a full license, it's worth every cent.
