Do you do REV or PPS with CAMS?

I have never really promoted cams, maybe just a few banners here and there on some blogs. But I am going to start upping that. I was just wondering what you all use rev-share or PPS? I am thinking rev would do best. Thanks for any input.

Revshare revshare revshare. Check my sig for the best sponsors. Take example Money Tree from signature, if they can afford to pay you $40 per free signup, then the average member spending ammount must be higher then that or else they would not be able to afford it. You will refer many members who will spend $1000 easily over a year. Revshare!

bobby666 06-22-2008 05:55 AM

Tat2Jr 06-22-2008 06:32 AM

Revshare! I have one member who's spent $16k+ since 2005 (the farthest that VS stats will go). My cut has been $6k. Off ONE member. $6k or $40? Hmmmmmm?

Chosen 06-22-2008 06:37 AM

If PPS is $100 or above I go with PPS, otherwise revshare :)

Well and watch for shaving.
I have phone sex traffic that's used to paying for per min sex...
I do well on movie dollars.. my contractors sites do well on movie dollars..
BOOM... put up one of the big name cam sponsors.. I'll do one sell every other day.. then suddenly nada.

What they do is look at the LOW NUMBER of traffic I'm sending... it's not as high as someone spamming TGP's or whatever...

But it's "I want to pay per min" sex customers.. and I KNOW I'm getting shaved... I know it. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

You can't tell me the same clientel I'm doing 2700/day with, everyday on phone sex... is only spending 30 bucks every other day on cams...

Even with just a banner on the side of the wordpress it should be converting better.

The Judge 06-22-2008 09:37 AM

what he said. revshare is notoriously easy to shave

Start up a few luxury related websites.. Ferrari, Breitling, yachts, golf, wine, etc..

and promote on them with revshare :)

d-null 06-22-2008 11:06 AM

I mix it up but mostly revshare

We used to offer Rev-Share, but we dropped it in favour for Pay Per Sign-up (PPS) for several reasons.

In order to get anyone to even pay attention to our affiliate program, we had to offer at least 25% Revenue Share. On $5.00 per minute this left only $3.02 per minute after the billing co's trasnaction fee to be split between us, the girls, and other studios we work with.

This would force us to have to hire sub-standard chat models from countries where the US dollar went much further. Most of the time these girls could not speak english, had low bandwidth and shitty cams and computers. We (and our affiliates) made little money because these girls could not convert.

Now by offering PPS, we can increase our affiliate commission to 50%. We actually lose money on the first sale, but make it up on additional sales later.

This method allows us to pay a higher rate to the girls who work for us (Canadian and American Girls) who can then afford better, faster computers, cameras and Internet connections.

These girls do a fantastic job of converting your visitors into paying customers because they talk by Voice (in English!) have fantastic video and audio quality, and know how to keep the end users happy and returning for more later.

This method also rewards good affiliates who work hard to promote us on a regular basis.

I met a webmaster at Internext last summer (I forgot his name) who bragged that he would sign-up only for Rev-share-for-life programs. He would promote them by spam, pop-ups and other ways that would generate low quality traffic, get a few sign-ups, and then do this again and again for any other program he could find (no loytality from this guy). He then laughed at the "suckahs" who keep paying him out for shit traffic while he sat on his hands doing nothing later.

He also bragged that he would sometimes buy video chat time as a customer via his own affiliate program, scamming the video chat company out of money. Good for him maybe, but bad for the companies who have to pay him out.

(This same "webmaster" by the way, was also trying to bum drinks off of me because he said he was boke AND thought that he somehow deserved a drink from me because MAYBE he would become our affiliate too. Um, no dude. Go fuck yourself you lazy piece of shit.)

Sometimes I think some companies are so desperate for affiliate webmasters that they literally drop their pants just to get attention and may make important financial mistakes in the process. (Read this: http://www.ynot.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=ea_article&s id=46703) We are no exception and have made some seriously stupid blunders in the past as well.

Anyway if you're an affiliate who go after only rev-share deals and this works for you then thats ok I guess. But don't ignore the cam sites like LiveCamNetwork.com who offer PPS. Send them an email and ask them some questions about the how and why they do what they do. Maybe PPS is better in some circumstances...

Have a good Sunday!

If PPS is good - go with PPS.
Otherwise go for revshare.
For example we're offering $111/PPS - I'd go for PPS here ...
Check my sig if you'd like to give it a try.

Well as a per minute owner myself..
An owner of a per minute network doesn't deserve more than 10-15% of profit ANYWAYS... Phone Sex operators make 51% if they're out promoting themselves.. COmpanies like NITEFLIRT pay the operators 70%... and still find a way to live...

not doing revshare is really just expecting more profit than you're truly doing the work for...

It's taken me 3.5 years to finally be able to touch my profits as a company owner... and even now, I'm not living in some swank ass place. I have operators who make more money than me..

and ya know what?
THEY DESERVE IT...
and so do the people who are doing the advertising....

I know about cocaine bingers who drop 3k in ONE NIGHT... and he does this for 3-4 weeks in a row. I know if the guys are doing it on phone girls.. they're doing it on cam girls too...

Have you ever spent 4-5 hours with some loser CEO blasted on coke and tried to keep things fun? have you? LOL... If not, you'll soon realize that the person who advertised and got that client in.. and the talent.. deserve like 80%....

I don't see any issue with doing 30% revshare if your girls are advertising and making 50%..
or 50% revshare if your cam girls aren't doing ANY advertising and your traffic is completely affiliate driven.

But again, I've been the talent. I've been the webcam girl.. and I've been the phone sex operator... so as an owner for me, I know what it's like.. and I know that the 15%ish percent I recieve in profit is WELL DESERVED.. but anything more would make me greedy.

I wasn't talking about the operators at all. I was talking about affiliate webmasters. And yes operators deserve their money, and even more if they are also promoters. Why would anything think otherwise?

PSSuperstars 06-22-2008 05:58 PM

You mentioned there only being like $3.00 left out of the $5....

That's normal. The talent should get $2.00 - $2.50 of that... then you get what's left over.

You acted like there being $3.00 left wasn't alot.

It's not! Please re-read my original post where I said this:

When its our own girls working out of our own studio, thats fine - we have enough to be fair to everyone and even afford bonuses, gifts, parties, etc. However when another studio has to be paid, the margin is tighter.

Most affiliate webmasters are cool, but that joker I mentioned had no concept of money or business at all. He just naturally assumed that any money that did not go to him, went right into my pocket as if no one else that contributes to our business deserves to be paid other than him.

Started with pps and now on revshare. I think if you are gonna promote cams for a long period then revshare is the best way to go :2 cents:

TheSenator 06-22-2008 09:30 PM

Mixed it up a bit....Half PPS the other half rev

GCN 06-25-2008 10:12 AM

Vick! 06-25-2008 10:41 AM

It is $100 and above (Bonus campaign), imliv at pussycash.com.
check us out:thumbsup

At Cams.com we have always recommended revshare for the long term affiliates, but it does take time to build up your collection of members. If you're looking to make a few quicker bucks and we're running a PPS promotion, then that might be preferable for your situation. BUT if you have the resources and the time, nothing beats revshare for long term payouts.
