STP on tour

Anyone going to catch their summer reunion tour?

I have my tickets for their stop in Montreal. Stone Temple Pilots is one band I regret seeing in the 90s during their prime. I'm happy to get a 2nd chance to see them now.

I worked one of their shows once... they were the best band on the ticket by far.

Evil Chris 06-27-2008 02:16 PM

I typed regret seeing... but I meant regret NOT seeing in the 90s...

_Richard_ 06-27-2008 03:48 PM

hmm i haven't followed up on this tour

is this with a festival or something?

Some Guy 06-27-2008 03:58 PM

I'm so glad they're touring again. Velvet Revolver was just a joke and a waste of talent. Scott Weiland belongs with Stone Temple Pilots and that's that.

I saw them two weeks ago - fucking rocked.

Hopefully they come out west..I'd like to see them

STP are crap.

But good luck to them ... :)

I beg to differ. They've been pumping out consistantly great music for years and years. "Core" is one of the best albums ever.

Meh ... I don't agree ... but that's why the world is so diverse ...

Nothing STP did has lasted for me ... I liked Sex Type Thing and Wicked Garden... I'll be honest, Interstate Love Song is pretty good ... but that's about it.

Oh and believe me ... I tried to like them ... I really did. I wasn't closed minded about it ... I think it's the guitar tones maybe ... dunno.

Scott's a good frontman tho. Not got the best range in the world, but still ... lots of energy on stage.

I didn't even know this was happening.

I'll be seeing them when they come around these parts, for certain!

Hmm. Interesting. I'm a musician myself and happen to think that DeLeo is an amazing guitarist. Weiland also happens to be one of my favorite vocalists because of his wide range. I've heard him do all kinds of crazy stuff with his voice. He can be quite a chameleon when he wants to be and can sound like tons of different artists. His voice is always full of melody. It's beautiful.

Great show Friday night here in Montreal. It was definitely a greatest hits concert. The encore started with Dead & Bloated which was just awesome...

Dean's brother is a pretty amazing bass player. They are a great band of musicians.

I'm a musician too and I wont take anything away from DeLeo in terms of his proficiency as a solid player ... i just don't get much from the sound of the guitar tones... and ... well ... nothing has grabbed and lasted with me like my favorite bands/guitarists have.

:)

We get it, you're not into them.

I was in a discussion with someone who knows what I'm talking about ... please refrain from interjecting your silly remarks. I can tell you're annoyed that I don't like them ... but I think giving an explaination makes my comments more important than yours :)

Oh and if you'll notice, I actually complimented DeLeo's solidity as a player.
