Another question for SE folks...

So I'm trying a little personal project and the pages I'm making are going to be translated into a few different languages.

My question is...

is it better to link them like

http://www.somesite.com/en/whatever-page.html

or

http://www.somesite.com/whatever-page-en.html

or

http://www.somesite.com/whatever-page.html?lang=en

is this type of stuff significant enough to worry about?

http://www.somesite.com/whatever-page-en.html

The less dashes/folders/what's separating those words, the better...Also, the less "dynamic" looking, the better. So, I vote number 2 :-)

I'd go with: somesite.com/en/index.html

defnitely stay away from question marks if your going for SEO

less dashes are better, but if youre rocking multiple word domains... never leave them spaceless...

domain.com/en/this-page-rocks.html - good

domain.com/en/thispagerocks.html - bad

I was just to post this. Use directories, its easier when you want to switch between development technologies in future, you do not loose PR, ranking etc.

I'll go for the first option, you cannot make anything better than this when it comes to SEO.

you was answered in detail on this, here.

Avoid #3 like the plague

#2 is good for sites that don't have too many pages (I'd say 100 or less pages).
#1 is good for larger sites so you can add structure to the links (layers the pages by importance, the higher in the architecture, the more important it is).

i think i follow

www.domain.com/vagina

www.domain.com/vagina/labia/roast-beef

hehehe
