Thank you Verizon wireless

Interesting morning.

Since I have a 6:05 flight tomorrow morning I had to get up at 6 today so I could check in and get a good spot in line. You have to be quick on the draw to get a good seat.

Wake up, go to my laptop and see a message from ICQ stating there was some network issue. I immediately thought of all the ICQ threads yesterday and thought, "on noes, not me too." However, no time to worry about it now, I need to check-in in four minutes.

Go to SWA page . . . .well, try to, but I have no Internet connection. Crap! Then I remember a notice that went out a couple weeks ago stating Time-Warner was going to be doing some work. Could have sworn they said they would notify us when they got to our neighborhood, but I got none.

I have two minutes to go. Verizon Wireless to the rescue.

Retrieve my card from my laptop bag, plug it in, bring up the program and login. I was at the SWA page with about 1 minute to spare.

Got A21, which means I will be about the 6th person on-board after the pre-boarding.

That you Verizon, you saved my day.

No doubt. Turns out there still is no Internet here, so I have been running on my card all day. Just glad I accepted their offer to upgrade my card to a faster speed.

I hardly notice the outage. Of course, I am on the road so much sometimes I use my card more than my fiber connection.

Not a chance. I think the first 15 spots are reserved for people that fly even more than I do. 21 is a prime number to get.

I've been thinking of picking up an aircard for alltel, but have to see if they can just add it to my package where I already have unlimited data or if I have to pay another $25/month.

Once the Verizon/Alltel merger is complete I wouldn't count on having unlimited data.

It isn't bad when you are in the middle of nowhere, but I am glad to return to normalcy.

Luckily I am grandfathered into my plan, so I still have unlimited use.

When I am on the road my card may stay connected 24/7 for days on end.

i could have done that on my phone Sprint Touch,

I can also or plug my Touch into my laptop via the included usb cable.
