Is there a ceiling vacuum type device to keep dust out of closets?

If I had a walk in closet and didn't want any dust in there could I buy a ceiling vacuum like in 'shop' class in highschool (lol) to suck all the dust out? I want to be able to pick up a pair of shoes I haven't worn in 9 months and not have dust on them.

just get a good hepa filter air cleaner and put it in your closet

Yeah, I put one like you would put in a bathroom to take out the smell, works great! But you end up with all the dust trapped on the fan, gray stuff. You have to wipe it down like once a week.

wipe it down weekly? I'm not into the regularly scheduled maintenance of anything. I guess my landscaping will never kick ass. How about an exhaust pipe that goes all the way through the roof (assuming its on the top floor of the house) ?

You need a wife.

No no not to clean and dust.. But because if you have a wife, then you no longer have closet space to worry about. :1orglaugh

But seriously, I have a unit like this: http://www.amazon.com/Honeywell-HFD-...5279338&sr=8-9

When I vaccum or clean a room I put it in there and crank it up so it sucks up as much kicked up dust and crap as possible. When the indicator says the filter is dirty, you can just clean it off.

if you look at the science of particle distribution youd know that a ceiling mounted fan to suck up the dust would simply increase the amount of dust in the closet.

A HEPA air filter would do more to solve the problem, though not much

where exactly is the "dust coming from....you never said...if its a problem and you have carpet, changing to hardwood floors will do more than even a HEPA air filter. but without knowing the source of the "dust problem" you aint gonna fix it.

Get a Hepa Air Cleaner you don't even need to put it in the closet just near it.

Also the filter will not need to be cleaned weekly prolly bi weekly :)

I smoke pot chronically and had a very serious dust problem..

Than I bought 2 air cleaners and I have ZERO dust now.. its kinda amazing..

this seems to be the favorite. It covers 600 square feet supposedly.... so it could cover the bedroom, bathroom, and walk in closet. Think it actually would? These things don't say much about dust, reviewers seems mostly concerned with health.
