Why do you say not worth it? I am thinking it would take a licking and keep on ticking . . . especially in my saddlebags.

hmmm, will have to see how it equates on this alienware laptop. I don't like the 64 GB size limit though.

For $700 you can get the 64 gb solid state and a 120 gb 7200 removable drive... Interesting . . . . except for marketsmart's comment.

well, size limits, they dont improve battery power they have been proved to drain it faster.. its just a newer technology so prices will go down rapidly and sizes will go up rapidly but if you got the money to spend on a 64gb ssd more power to you, i wouldnt pay the money for one right now..

if you are worried about g force ruining a drive just buy a external one in a shock resistant container

I've got the 64GB SSD in my M15x and love it. Laptop stays nice and cool, plus the life expectancy is through the roof on these.

Regarding alienware reliability... just get the warranty. Bought a 3 year warranty with my m15x.... hopefully won't have to use it.

Yet, I am so much better looking and cooler than you. Hopefully you will get better with age.

Have you ever called their support? That is why we are not considering Dell.

seeric 07-06-2008 09:06 PM

Got it early february and am running Vista.

I heard PLENTY of Alienware horror stories and researched (and verified) them before the order.. So I just ended up buying the biggest warranty they had (usually I go with the smallest warranty... but this was for CYA).
