Uninvited House guest this weekend (PICS)

Came home today to this baby in our backyard. Not sure what kind of snake it is but you can tell he just had a small meal. Didn't have a rattle but looks to big to be a Gardner snake. Someone's lost pet perhaps?

I just went to check on the snake and he was upside down outside. :( He is moving a little but not much and there are ants all over him. He's dying, poor guy.

What did you do to the poor snake, you animal abuser?!

I don't think you have to rescue animals in the wild. Animals die at some point, just like people.

It's probably just sleeping. Haha!

RedShoe 07-07-2008 02:18 AM

It's a gopher snake (a subspecies of the bull snake), and it's harmless. I say let it roam in your yard it will kill any mice or other unwanted rodents.

Sarah_Jayne 07-07-2008 04:30 AM

I don't think I have ever just stumbled upon any seriously sized snakes in the wild. We used to now and then see really small ones in my parent's yard back in PA but I think I would have had a fit if I had seen one like that.

viencarl 07-07-2008 04:36 AM

tranza 07-07-2008 07:01 AM
