Warning about BLACKLABELADS / AdBrite

About 8 months ago I moved and unfortunately some of the checks I was receiving got mixed up. Around the same time there was that fiasco with AVNAds/BlackLabelAds/Adbrite/etc.

There was a good amount of time where you couldn't even login to your account.

Finally logged into AdBrite (because I didn't even know if I could still login through AVNAds or BlackLabelAds) and remembered that I had about 1,000$ worth of outstanding checks that had been issued to my old address since it takes them 3 months before they even send you payments.

I wrote them an email, asking for a stop to be put on the checks and to reissue them to my new address, as I have moved and wouldn't have any way of getting them at my old address - and there response?

THEY ARE JUST GOING TO KEEP THE 1,000$.

Here is their official response:

"Hi Brent,

Thanks for writing in.

Unfortunately at this time we only make payments by check via standard mail. We are exploring other payment options however there is no set time line as to when these may be implemented. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We are sorry to inform you that checks that are outstanding after 180 days from the date of issue will be voided and ineligible for re-deposit or reissue. You can find our Check Reissue Policy in our searchable FAQ section "Rules & Policies", or you can visit the following link:

http://help.adbrite.com/faq/index.php?action=artikel&cat=2&id=233&artlang=en"

I understand that I could have contacted them after they sorted out their bullshit between AVNAds and BlackLabelAds, but I had other things to take care of as well, and even if it is completely my fault I still think it's ridiculous that they are simply going to keep 1,000$ because I didn't manage to collect the checks they sent me.

The bottom 3 amounts of this screenshot is what they are keeping:

That being said, since I am going to be doing some advertising again, if anyone knows any other companys that do FPA (Full Page Ads) please let me know so I can use them instead.

Tanker 07-08-2008 02:30 PM

PlugRush Sascha 07-08-2008 02:30 PM

Jakez 07-08-2008 02:34 PM

They send you your payments 3 months later? Why the fuck do so many people use this program?

Adult Banner Exchange 07-08-2008 02:35 PM

I have recently stopped using these cocksuckers too.

BAKO 07-08-2008 02:37 PM

Karupted Charles 07-09-2008 11:46 AM

We also dropped them after false advertising rate displays. We contacted them to work it out got a bullshit response and they never replied back to our further questioning it.

pornguy 07-09-2008 12:01 PM

A fried just put them on a blog that gets good traffic and not a single paying ad on it in a month.

They suck ass.

AdDistributor

:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

xxxdesign-net 07-09-2008 12:28 PM

They dont reissue void checks??! thats bs... That money was earned.. All sposnors i have dealt with reissued outdated void checks...

fusionx 07-09-2008 12:37 PM

This is just plain robbery. When there is a reasonably valid reason someone can't get their checks, they should have no problem doing a reissue. Policy or not.. If the reason is rediculous, hell - charge them a small fee to cover your costs.. but I can't see ANY reason to not pay a person what they are owed.

I'm dropping them completely..

cykoe6 07-09-2008 12:49 PM

Juicy Ads is a good ad distributor which handles adult and is very trustworthy.

Their terms does not negate the legal requirement as to make good on what they owe you.

You should take them to small claims court.

Familiar with them, but do they do Full Page Ads?

mattz 07-09-2008 04:47 PM

That sucks to hear, I've never had any problems with AdBrite though, but I haven't had a campaign going with them in quite some time.

tupakball 07-09-2008 09:52 PM

is it time to avoid them?

tony286 07-09-2008 10:01 PM

that's what I was thinking too

V_RocKs 07-09-2008 10:27 PM

Even bigger than your fiasco,

AdBrite is NOT compatible with Firefox 3. It will hang your surfers browser and/or cause the page to load in about 1 minute while making Firefox 3 use 100% of the computers resources... Those with dual CPU's can still use their computer though.. but even for them it is noticeably slower. Most surfers will think you are installing spyware or something and never come back.

Markul 07-10-2008 02:15 AM

So today's project, pull adbrite ads ><

tranza 07-10-2008 06:59 AM

That sucks :(

geedub 07-10-2008 07:20 AM

they jacked me once i guess i had something in my shopping cart from 12/07 and i bought some ads off a few sites, nothing i didn't currently add was in my cart, i put in my cc info and check out i got all this other bullshit from last year it automatically paid for! so then i was sending traffic to a site i didn't even own anymore lol had to have my bank fix the problems..

I notice the same thing and dropped their ads from my network.

DarkJedi 07-10-2008 07:26 AM

AdBright was started by a jew named Pud Kaplan

surprise! not.

18teens 07-10-2008 08:13 AM

A bump for you to get paid. I have started pulling their ads anyway because of the Firefox 3 issue.

Xniphobe 07-10-2008 10:29 AM

I had a very bad experience with Adbrite / Black Label Ads myself. I paid for a text link ad, but they never ran it. When I asked for my money back, they said no, despite the fact that when I made the purchase, I was plainly promised a "refund" if the ad didn't run.

As with this case, they kept talking about their "policy"...as if putting fraudulent, misleading or unfair business practices in one's "policy" somehow makes them less fraudulent, misleading or unfair.

I'll never have anything to do with them again, and I strongly advise others to stay away.

adult-help 07-10-2008 12:11 PM

hm, really pathetic. they seems to be market leaders to me. unfortunately shaving and other tricks are immortal all we can do is to report them in public to warn others and spoil their reputations.

Is there any practical way to take a company to small claims court when you do not live in the same country? :Oh crap
