question about nats and could this be a shave tactic?

I'm asking this question because I don't know what the admin area of nats for program looks like nor what features/functions are there, so need to know.

Say Program A is only a revshare program but their unencrypted link codes show pps instead of rev like I seen on other revshare programs.

Is it possible that this program has $0 payout set up in pps area of nats since they're a revshare program and that using pps links instead of rev that I will not be getting credit for sales?

Enlighten me please on how a nats program sets up pps or rev in admin.

Post one example of this "revshare program but their unencrypted link codes show pps instead of rev like I seen on other revshare programs"

ie: username:recurring vs username:pps however, the program I'm wondering about does not offer pps though their linkcode shows as pps instead of recurring

It's not that hard! I'll spell it out for you.

Program A offers both pps and revshare

pps link
http://secure.paysitename.com/track/username:pps:XXX/

revshare link
http://secure.paysitename.com/track/username:revs:XXX/

While program B only offers revshare the link shows
http://secure.paysite.com/track/user...ecurring:site/

and program C only offers pps and link is
http://secure.paysite.com/track/username:pps:XXX/

yet the program in question only offers revshare, yet the link shows as a pps one as shown in the above
http://secure.paysite.com/track/user:pps:xxx/

pps is just a arbitrary name, it doesn't mean that you are actually on "pps", they could have named the program "zzz" just as easily...

I can help you out with this one.

If an affiliate is signed up to Pay Per Sale for example, you can basically go in there and change his Pay Per Sale link to Revshare or vice versa.

Nats allows you to do this change to any specific affiliate.

Yes and Nats can set the payout on PPS or Revshare to what ever I want.

I can pay you per sign up on the revhsare program and visa versa

Do you really think you would not notice sales with 0 earnings in the affiliate admin?

Exactly

It can be named ANYTHING

borked 07-11-2008 12:03 PM

just ask the program rep why their revshare is named pps...

but yeah, one could call a program 'revshare' but set it backend to not recur. But shit, I think people would see that they were getting no rebills at all!!

It is what it is and is not what it is not.

This is exactly it. In NATS, it has what is called the 'short name' for a program. Once you set the name, you're not allowed to edit it. You can change the entire program's purpose, but the name stays the same.

On the programs dropdown list youd still see the PPS / Revshare % amount when you grab your link code. In your example, you'd see "Pay Per Signup $0 PPS" (or something along those lines). PPS in general doesnt give out revshare on rebills (obviously).
