RSS feeds: would google ever go so far as to...
Just thinking, I wonder if, in google's drive toward relevancy in the serps and prejudice against duplicate content and splogs, do you think google would ever use their knowledge of what is coming out from large programs in the form of feeds as an indicator in their algorithm to determine that a blog was original vs. being a fed "splog"
...even with the use of synonym morphers or even original paraphrase rewriting, it wouldn't be an impossible task to find blogs that are relying on sponsor feeds for content, with a little bit of fuzzy logic in the algorithm and cross referencing of timing of links appearing, etc. I'm not saying it is happening yet to that extent, but I think it is a possible scenario that could become more of a factor if google decides to tweak in that direction so what is my point or question? how about, if one has a high value site that is ranking well, are they taking an expensive risk in relying in any way on feeds for content? |
if you rely on rss feeds you already are under the duplicates

Nope :)
