Any other animal "rescuers" here?

Found this racing pigeon on my front doorstep today, lost from a race. Decided to catch him and let him eat & rest since he burnt most of his fat/muscles.

Also saved this wild pigeon 2 weeks back, found her stuck on a fast road, cars wizzing past and over her. Nothing broken, just needs rest and time for her main feathers to grow back (a lot missing in her wings).

*prepares for the pigeon haters*

Who else here "rescue" animals in need? Post some pics :)

nice pictures... I saved my dog when we found him as a puppy. He was very sick and on the brink of death.

I rescued a parrot and a bunch of wild cats/kittens

I found a damn baby HAWK in my pool the other day... lifted him out, let him dry off and fly away. I don't know why I didn't take pictures... I'm so damn lazy.

I don't eat them so I kinda saved a lot :)

Don't know, I saved lots of cats/dogs and chickens (lol), I don't really count them.. And all those were saved more than 5 years ago.. The number is more than 20-30 for sure :)

Don't have much contact with animals in last few years..

pretty amazing experience when you know 100% the animal is grateful for being saved:thumbsup

I took care of three baby squirrels that my brother found in his rain gutters. We put them outside for a few hours but the mother never came back to get them.

I had to feed them and stimulate them to excrete waste every 4 hours for the entire weekend until a local wildlife rehabber came and picked them up.

I raised a couple of baby rabbits when their mother got run over by the nieghbors rider mower. The were hairless and eyes still closed. Had to feed them every two hours for quite awhile. I was 12 at the time and it was pretty exhausting being I was still in school. I have no idea where the pictures are now. I wanted to keep them but when they started biting it was time to let them go.

Our cat is from the local rescue centre, so in a way we saved her.

Well we gave her a good home anyway... :)

very sweet of you to do that.
Personally I've saved enough dogs and cats to earn my place in heaven.
My current dog is a rescue, she's already 7 years old and very healthy, although being mischievous lately and caca'ing in the house :(

I have a beagle that's pregnant mom was abandoned at a hunting club and half starved then had 7 puppies, an Aussie Shepard who came out of a puppy mill and is completely deaf and partially blind from bad breeding, a guinea fowl who showed up here and a neighbor found with part of an arrow sticking out of his neck, a cat who was dumped off in our neighborhood and screamed at everyone's front door for 2 days, and 2 (4 originally) hermit crabs that were stuck in a box with no food, water, or sand, inside a store at the beach, where I got into a cuss fight with the store owner about it.
