children on porn sites
there are different systems to prevent children on porn sites ... like cybernanny etc.
which is the best? does that bring any advantages for search engine listings? do US affiliates prefer sites who include such buttons? |
In America, we used to have a thing called "parents," but I don't know what happened to them.

correction: they faded out when life got too expensive and they had to work 10 hours a day to put food on the table.
Solution: stop having so many kids! |
Why would anyone want to have kids at all?
|
I am gay ... so that is not an solution for me ... what about the technical solutions ;-)
|
There are 3 or 4 technical ways, none any better than the other.

I don't want kids on my sites. None. I'd rather there be 5% collateral damage (eg 18+ adults on a shared computer who do not know how to disable blocking s/w) than 10% of my surfers being underage and being able to access the site despite having the appropriate blocking software, simply because I couldn't be bothered adding a couple of meta tags........ |

I'm startled by the number of young kids that have unfiltered net access on their personal PC in their room.
The internet isn't a toy. It's not like television. I'm fairly liberal on most matters, but for this one: public, very visible computer, and a glance at the logs every now and again. When they're around 'that age', or before: parent to child talk, instead of wishing it would go away... |
