Who played a better joker?

They both did a great job playing the Joker. Who did the best job in your opinion?

Spunky 07-20-2008 09:41 PM

I've always liked Jack.he was great

GrouchyAdmin 07-20-2008 09:41 PM

Jack, because, well, he's Jack. Heath couldn't pull off anything nearly as deranged as Jack can.

commonsense 07-20-2008 09:42 PM

Ledger was a MUCH darker Joker, perfect for the tone of the movie.

candyflip 07-20-2008 09:53 PM

While I remember loving the Tim Burton Batman movie, I tried watching it last night as it was on TV and realized what a crappy movie it really is.

These two new "takes" on the characters are soooo much better.

SL|M! 07-20-2008 09:56 PM

I like Ledger, more sinister

XoXo Cash 07-20-2008 10:29 PM

people like jack nicholson just because of who he is....and if heath ledger wasnt being compared to him like it was a popularity contest, they would hands down say that he kicked ass as the crazy/evil joker!! he was def on the level of freddy krueger with the creepiness!

shermo 07-21-2008 01:56 AM

Ledger hands down..But each played the perfect part for the movie they were each in.

Too funny. Same thing happened with me. I loved that movie as a kid. Watched it not too long ago and said, "Wow, this movie is complete garbage."

I tried watching Batman and Robin this weekend before seeing The Dark Knight and THAT was a horrible abomination of a movie. Thank god for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight!

Violetta 07-21-2008 02:24 AM

havent seen the last one. Will this week!

Drake 07-21-2008 02:33 AM

Ledger was perfect. A very evil joker.

truthless 07-21-2008 02:36 AM

I thought they were both amazing. The first 2 Batmans were favorites of mine as a kid. That being said, I have much darker tastes now and I thought Ledger did portrayed a very sinister and evil Joker perfectly.

ladida 07-21-2008 04:09 AM

Didn't see the new joker yet, but noone can play a lunatic psycho maniac like Jack can. I still get chills from the shining.

cess 07-21-2008 07:36 AM

Not a fair comparison. I'm sure they didn't tell each one to just act deranged and that was that.

You can' say that till you see the movie. I thought the same thing Ledger was really creepy and played it much closer to the way it was supposed to be done based on the novels.

axelcat 07-21-2008 08:58 AM

Ledger was amazing, and the movie rocked

Martin 07-21-2008 09:00 AM

Jack as the joker has many famous lines in his role. How many will Ledger have? Haven't seen it yet.

JFK 07-21-2008 09:01 AM

I think Jack started it off in the right direction, loved his version, but Heath put it over the top:thumbsup

ADL Colin 07-21-2008 09:14 AM

Jack was great. ledger better

Klen 07-21-2008 09:20 AM

Didnt seen movie yet so i cant tell

mona 07-21-2008 09:22 AM

The saw the Dark Knight last night and Heath was awesome!!! Oscar-winning for sure...Too bad he's gone, RIP.

The only two batman movies I have seen, were the first movie and this newest one.

Nicholson was crazy, but he was glamorized with his nice purple suit and perfectly done joker makeup. He was a good hollywood joker and best seen as a kid.

The new joker though, he was a grimy, scary mofo. A legitimate nutcase villian.

My vote goes towards the new joker.

TGVinny 07-21-2008 09:38 AM

It was 2 different Jokers... Heath's was "Darker" and more sinister vs. Jack's was "Crazy"

Mutt 07-21-2008 09:43 AM

neither - original Joker Cesar Romero wins

Quagmire 07-21-2008 09:48 AM

They were two totally different styles of movies. Jack played the part well for the original Batman movie, but with the new series of darker Batman movies Heath played the part absolutely perfect.

It reminds me of The Crow movies... Atleast the character is covered in makeup, which will make it much easier to replace him.

pornguy 07-21-2008 09:50 AM

Each did a good job in how own movie.

Want to see something crazy about how you view movies now days. Think back to the memory of your favorite Jame bond film. Then rent it.

Word.

In a way it's unfair to say 'who was best'. If one of them sucked then fair enough, but both did a really good job at the role they had to do at the time...

qxm 07-21-2008 10:13 AM

Nick was crazy funny.... but Ledger was dark and sinister...........maybe because he had so much experience with weird ass supernatural movies ... sin eater and shit like that.....

The only reason I didn't call it garbage was because I love Tim Burton. But yeah, it was pretty fucking horrible. Wasn't it one of the first $100 million to make movies too?

C H R I S 07-21-2008 10:22 AM

Jack will always be the Joker

tranza 07-21-2008 12:36 PM

I think is Jack!

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 07-21-2008 12:41 PM

Another vote for Cesar Romero...

both actors played great.
its hard to choose when both of them did an awesome acting.

Michaelious 07-21-2008 12:54 PM

Ledger did

CaveCreek_Russell 07-21-2008 12:59 PM

Ledger no doubt, looking back on the Tim Burton movie, they're not even comparable.

Molecule 07-21-2008 01:02 PM

Heath made a good showing of Frank Miller's graphic novel version of the Joker. Nicholson's character was based on a totally different version of the Joker and he played it huge and pretty much perfectly. That being said I am a fan of the Frank Miller version of the Dark Knight so Heath got the better roll. I think a if a slightly younger Nicholson had been the Joker in the new film, he would have killed it. There are few greater actors.

TheDoc 07-21-2008 01:02 PM

The movies are very different, in my eyes. But they both did a great job playing the Joker.

I don't think Ledger really made the joker seem crazy enough. It seemed like he was trying to make him act crazy, with some luck that his master plan would fall into place.

The 'fun' of the joker is what made him crazy. Which is why I think Jack pulled it off a little better.

chelo - adultcopywriters 07-21-2008 01:16 PM

I Haven't seen it yet but for me Jack is the man! I hardly believe Heath can do a better job, of course we're now in 2008 not in 1989, so please those of you who loved BATMAN (1989) and now you say it's rubbish, try to see it as if we were back then. It's no news the new version has better effects and better camera movements.

Strickie 07-21-2008 01:40 PM

They were both great, but I like Jack the best.

The Ghost 07-21-2008 02:38 PM

Different flicks, but Ledgers performance was awesome. If someone asked me to make a list of Joker possibilities I would have never put him on the list. Whoever did the casting and chose him is a genius.

shekinah 07-21-2008 06:54 PM

For me it's heath.. sad he died in the middle of filming this batman movie:(
