Cocaine Drug Bust in Mexico in a Submarine

http://www.webcastr.com/videos/news/...co-subine.html
^video

The Mexican military, working with information from U.S. intelligence services, recovered nearly six tonnes of cocaine in a makeshift submarine seized this week off the Pacific coast. It was one of Mexico's largest maritime drug seizures and the first time the country has seen drug smugglers using a submarine, the navy said.

That's a lot of cocaine mang

pr0 07-21-2008 03:06 PM

They've been using submarines since the fall of the soviets in the late 80's/early 90's

mexico just finally caught onto it....

that sucks...o well :1orglaugh

candyflip 07-21-2008 03:07 PM

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 07-21-2008 03:07 PM

Thats not the first time a submarine has been caught. I read about one last year, same shit, less drugs were in it though.

lol an article in the economist on the cocaine industry, too funny, I can just imagine some wall street guy trying to figure the margins on drug running.

Coca-Cola wouldn't be where it is today without cocaine.

Other than the kinds of things that are dangerous to the general populous at large, such as uranium or other items used for weapons of mass destruction, governments should seriously abandon the idea of controlled substances. The war on drugs will NEVER be won. What it costs us as taxpayers is not worth it. I have about as much respect for the idea of controlling drugs/alcohol as I do for parking meter agents. Besides, I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone in our congress that hasn't used or continues to do so. I think our current President was known to...... <never mind>

According to WikiPedia:

A controlled substance is generally a drug or chemical whose manufacture, possession, and use are regulated by a government. This may include illegal drugs and prescription medications (designated Controlled Drug in the United Kingdom).

In the United States, the DEA is responsible for suppressing illegal drug use and distribution by enforcing the Controlled Substances Act. Some precursor chemicals used for the production of illegal drugs are also controlled substances in many countries, even though they may lack the pharmacological effects of the drugs themselves. Substances are classified according to schedules and consist primarily of potentially psychoactive substances. The controlled substances do not include many prescription items such as antibiotics.

another funny thing re: that article. it states the subs are a direct connection from columbia to u.s., cutting out the mexicans who were responsible for the big rise in price.

no wonder the mexicans busted that sub eh!
