selling domain privately using paypal for payment
I have always used a domain seller to facilitate deals, but I have a cheap domain I am about to sell and take payment through paypal ($300) and I wonder what procedure I should use to protect myself from a scam?
how long after the money is in my paypal should I wait to ensure no chargeback before I transfer the domain? any other hints? |
Transfer your money out the moment you get it into your paypal.
if you get a chargeback fight it or/and fuck that account. They will not directly take the money from your bank account. Your paypal will just have a negative balance.. I go as far as having a seperate checking account associated with my paypal.. |
Oops you said Transfer the domain not the funds..
I'm sure the buyer will want you to transfer immediately.. You'd really have to wait something like 30 days before transferring the domain if you want no chance of the buyer filing a claim to get his money back.. But I doubt you can even do that outside of ebay anymore ??? |
You really have to transfer the domain straight away. You may be scared of getting scammed, but the buyer can be thinking the same thing. Why should he trust you to send the money and then wait 30 days before he gets his domain? He pays, he wants the domain straight away... simple as that.
If you don't trust them, don't sell it, but you can't expect them to send you money and then sit and wait for a couple of weeks for their domain while you have their money. |
I have never ever been scammed.... Guess I have been lucky, but I always trust people! Though, I mostly do biz with people from gfy!
