Need some help guys. What causes Memcached to fail and how to avoid it from failing?

It's pretty normal that memcached needs to be restarted every couple of months - by its very nature :)

However it's not monthly, it happens 3-5 times a week :|


(i'm reinstalling icq so should be back on shortly)

make sure you run the latest version and that your ram is ok.

i usually only have to restart it once a month or so

Thanks for the response so far guys. I could deal with once every month or so, but weekly is excessive and trying to nail down the cause of it.

are you using it with sparta? ;(

Sounds like you got some faulty ram Memcached tends to need restart atleast once a month i have client that has had his memcached running for close to 9 months without need for restart... Check your ram

What happens with your memcache daemon? Are you sure you have enough memory configured for memcached?
