so yesterday i call ATT and wanted to go get my self and my girl and iphone, fuck they say its a 21 day waiting list or some crap.

Call the apple store, they are like or common over we have enough stock. So I go there
pick up two. Only thing I didn't like was, they wanted me to sign up for the 2 yr contract there itself and wont just sell the phones with out them, which was ok by me cos I needed
two lines anyways ( switched from verizon bitches)

So why ATT doesnt have it and Apple store got plenty ? bad inventory management ?

Are they still selling 2G phones?

Where are you located? I had trouble even finding them at the Apple store...

did you get the 3G? Or did you get the old EDGE network phone?

Is this an excuse to hate on Apple or AT&T??

How the fuck should we know why the Apple store had more in stock than AT&T mail order?

Apple is the supplier and manufacturer of the phone btw. Sooo... DUHHHHH!!!

AT&T pulled all 2G iPhones back in June and stopped selling them. I'm sure the same policy was instituted at the Apple stores.

It is still too soon to buy an iPhone, maybe in another year all the bugs will be worked out and the price will be cheap.

chill guys, its 3G phone, bought a 16GB and an 8GB . so far I like it, easy to use and I can txt without trouble ( my fat fingers ) :).

and browsing is superb speed. GFY looks nice on it . forgive my camera skills

oh i bought it at the apple store in dublin, ca

fucking california is 4 weeks backed up. i'm not fucking waiting in no lines. i will wait for a month or so.

i called 2-3 stores today and the fucking pricks dont even want to talk to you on the phone.

i had to curse out some whore at the store in topanga.

they pulled the old iphones from the shelves when the announcement was made of the new model and release date. i think the problem is they want you to go to apple to buy the phone and get you familiar with your new favorite store... the apple store :winkwink:

pretty stupid decision IMO to not overstock AT&T stores. when i was picking up my iphone, the rep was telling someone they were sold out and it would be 3 weeks until he could get one. instead, he bought some other phone off the shelf... there just went a loss to apple and a potential customer for life

the thing that sucks is you cant go pick one up for someone with out signing an agreement. i think that AT&T made the deal with apple that they would give apple some of the revenue to them off the 2 year agreement if they ate the cost of the phone.

Think about it, data packages went up $10 a month for the 3G phone. On a two year agreement thats $240 which is probably going right into apples pocket, not including the rips they are getting from new contracts and contract extensions.

The 3G iphone rocks out with its cock out.
