It likely will happen very soon. It's needed to free up police/court resources on real drugs.

Mr Judges little "18" yo Mackenzie is not going to end up hooked on pot & working in the local brothel. But if she's hooked on the powder/rock you better believe little Mackenzie's gonna be sucking cock at the local strip club.

You should see the hot 18-21 yo girls i see at the local strip club everyday....all going in the bathroom to powder their nose or smoke rock with the $ i just handed them.

BradM 07-30-2008 11:30 AM

It's time. It costs way too much to police everyone. Shit 90% of CA smokes up every day anyway. Just end the "war" on drugs. MJ at least.

all drugs need to be legalized....with the exception of crack & meth, the 2 "killers"

the rest of the drugs out there really do have "leisure purposes"

scientifically a little coke, weed, xtc, mushrooms, lsd or even heroin/smoking opium won't kill you or cause immediate dependence...& if you go overboard all of them can be treated

however crack & meth cannot effectively be treated should someone go "overboard" thus should be banned forever for public health/mental health purposes

free up the police time to shut down meth houses & crack dealers....the real scourge of the earth & leave recreational drug users alone

stickyfingerz 07-30-2008 11:38 AM

Keeps fingers crossed. :winkwink:

why would the government STOP doing something when they can just increase taxes to cover additional costs? this is HOW the government operates already. want to tax citizens more? shift money allocated to schools or other essential services to some pork projects and then tell the sheep to pay more every two weeks because the schools are underfunded.

very true....but i think the will of the people (and the cops/judges) is getting more & more worn down when it comes to the war on pot specifically

cities are turning into giant ghetto's....& the prevalence of coke/crack is on the rise, i don't give a fuck what the govt reports say about decreased usage etc.

cops are starting already to turn a blind eye to marijuana & only use it as an excuse to search vehicles nowadays if they think there's something else going on

many states have already turned minor possession into a traffic ticket.....the next logical step is the decriminalization

heck...in North Carolina (and many other states) you can drive around with a ounce or less on your seat no worries, if you get pulled over just hand the cop the bag, & he hands you a ticket....game over

DateDoc 07-30-2008 11:52 AM

Legalize and tax it.

"the WAR on drugs" is a fucking joke, a huge excuse to keep the enforcement agencies in funds:disgust

not only a joke....a sick joke

first implemented based on racist theories of the "black man & mexicans" going insane on them & humping white women

so its one giant racially motivated joke

Tom_PM 07-30-2008 12:01 PM

It needs to be policed like alcohol is thats all. DUI's, field tests, fines, driving priviledges revoked/penalized, treatment facilities etc etc. Everything is in place and that sure seems more like what people would expect. Just a matter of time.

cherrylula 07-30-2008 12:03 PM

Its going to take some time for the legistlation. But first decriminalizing is good. Then they need to reschedule it from a class 1 and that will spur lots of legal changes in the system.

Tom_PM 07-30-2008 12:05 PM

I think it started more with Chinese immigrants and bringing their opium trade with them. Once they were no longer needed to build railroads and such, this habit was criminalized and used to shove the chinese immigrants around and out of where they were not wanted.

tony286 07-30-2008 12:11 PM

Make it legal, it would be safer and you have the tax revenue.Sell it in liquor stores so kids cant get it.

OG LennyT 07-30-2008 12:12 PM

from a non-smoker, please legalize

ebiz 07-30-2008 12:13 PM

yes legalize and tax it ,,would be great to go to a weed outlet and shop (if thats your gig)

cool1 07-30-2008 12:25 PM

time for the US to legalize, then maybe Canada will be able to go ahead and legalise it here.

Evil Chris 07-30-2008 12:27 PM

It will NEVER happen in the USA.

marzzo 07-30-2008 12:27 PM

Well, since the US Government patented "Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants" it's obvious they know the medicinal qualities are real, and they will profit from it as much as the pharma companies, if not more, thru taxation and regulation.

stickyfingerz 07-30-2008 12:29 PM

Would be nice if they decriminalized growing for personal use that is for sure.

Farang 07-30-2008 12:36 PM

Coke and weed are in illegal in US, because good coke and weed are made not in US.

TheDoc 07-30-2008 12:41 PM

It "can be legal" if Americans start calling/emailing State Reps asking them to support the bill.

Just need a few million stoned people to put the bong down and make our voice be heard.

gornyhuy 07-30-2008 01:03 PM

It would be so great to just be able to grow a couple of plants in the garden along with my veggies... Alas. I don't see it happening while I'm young.

Agreed. Even if the bill passes the house it won't make it through the senate. Bush would never sign it, Obama might, but McCain never will as well so it has no chance in hell.

In the article is says: "The vast amount of human activity ought to be none of the government's business," Frank said on Capitol Hill. "I don't think it is the government's business to tell you how to spend your leisure time." That is the problem, many of our leaders think they should be able to control our day to day lives.

I think is should be made legal, but I don't see it happening any time soon.

2012 07-30-2008 01:11 PM

fuck that, we need more drinkers and pill poppers !

SifuE 07-30-2008 03:12 PM

fallenmuffin 07-30-2008 03:17 PM

Its already "legal" in several states .. 5 I believe but for medical purposes.

It won't be long before its fully legal but 21+ to buy and if DWI for driving while high etc. Cash cow for the states.

LMAO Some of the best weed in the world is grown in Northern California. Boy is your statement completely wrong and ignorant. :2 cents:

bufferover 07-30-2008 04:29 PM

Lucky you :)

Here you can get one year in prison for one joint or seed, plus extra treament in police staton. So be happy.. :rasta

MarcDigital 07-30-2008 04:34 PM

I doubt if it will ever happen. I just can't imagine the chaos that it would bring. lol

You know how many people will have accidents and maybe kill someone cause they are high driving a car for the first time? WOW

Unforunatly I have to agree. There are too many people getting rich of the growing prison systems with free labor. There are too many tobacco and alchohol lobbyists who will pay big money to see that it never happens. Then there is the whole religous/political marraige thing as well.

It's pretty rare for a stoned person, even more so a casual smoker to get into a car and drive. Plenty of people can only have one hit, and can't drive until they come down. Hell, some can't get up and piss.

Driving high (not the same as stoned) is like driving after a sip of beer, 99% of will be okay, but you do gota watch out for 1% fools.

Barefootsies 07-30-2008 05:13 PM

It would be nice.

I am sure the taxpayers, like myself, are tired of paying $45k a year per inmate just to warehouse some pothead.

The US went as far as bannin gambling - there is no chance you guy will legalise marijuana.

I think marijuana seeds are even banned in th US?

Vendzilla 07-30-2008 07:16 PM

it's stupid that the material that made the first draft of the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence is now illegal, or the material that was used for the first American flag is now illegal, it's stupid, the covers on the covered wagons and the shirts they were wearing, also now illegal
cough, cough, cough
