Shhhhh... I was just seeing if it was possible, thats all!

Not really sure you can do much. I'd say donate to the party or candidate, but I'm pretty sure it's against the law to accept donations from foreign parties.

yahoo-xxx-girls.com 08-01-2008 08:14 PM

But doesn't NAFTA have a clause within it saying that a Canadian can support whichever party he or she wishes ??? And what about it issue of laws around pet control and the need of the Canadian influence on the American system... don't you depend on such?

Just wondering...

Walrus 08-01-2008 08:22 PM

I'm 99% sure you can't donate to a party or politician in the U.S. I'm not sure about PACs though, so you might want to look into that.

MarkMan 08-01-2008 08:37 PM

you can create a Nevada corporation and the corporation can donate to whatever you wont.

their is huge amounts of "donations" coming from china and the arab states .. their was a 20/20 article about it a few years ago(i think ).

anyway .. i am Canadian too and yes US politics effects us big time here .. but .. hay

i don't care who wins they all suck.. , so no donations here :)

yahoo-xxx-girls.com 08-01-2008 08:41 PM

I don't think corporations can donate directly to politicians either. I think the donations are for PACs. I think that is your easiest option.

Just send me the money. I will deal with it appropriately.

That's right... All Canadians who get paid in US funds should support the Republicans as this graph clearly indicates..

Well... considering the US gets tuns of oil from us and resells it back to us at a higher rate, and if your economy fails further our investors loose their money... Do I need to continue...

Why do you care that I care? :upsidedow

O and you spelled Canadian wrong... ^^

Ok... I'll explain... He sounds solid and seems to be very sharp. I could see him in the office of the president because of how he holds himself and how people interact with him. His opponent seems to be show boating around and making himself look like a complete flake.

I back McCain, I think he would work really well with Canada and that he would most like put the US economy back inline... Its not a Republican/Democrat issue, but rather I just think he is the better man for such a hard job.

ok so your vote would be based on "impression" not on any actual political considerations... again, good thing you can't add your voice to the Americans...

As for working with Americans... if Harper had been Prime Minister during the Bush request to have us join the war in Iraq, he would have said YES and not wiped the cum off his chin. We had a ballsy PM at the time in the name of Chretien who basically said fuck the stupid Iraq initiative...

:D

MarkMan 08-02-2008 11:22 AM

the thing is they are both not the best..

but from the two .. i would also go for McCain over this fake Robot/Actor like opponent.

Wow... American politics amaze me... you really sound like a brown-noser. O by the way its impressions that's the backbone of those who are trying to get political considerations in the first pace. Whats wrong in America is that there is way too much political considerations... if a candidate cannot do his or her job then get rid of them... stop taking people in to do your political jobs if they are not fit. See... easy I just fixed the American issue.

O ps. I just added my voice. ^^

Sure he can. If he knows a US citizen who will accept his money and make a donation for him, it's completely doable.

You just don't say who it's from, that's all.

It just so happens I know someone who will gladly do such a favor for him. All he need do is contact me and I will forward their contact, I am but an ICQ away. :winkwink:

Canada wound up in Afghanistan during the Chretien/Paul Martin era. Harper merely inherited the mess when he took over. Chretien sent our troops in to a theatre of war without proper funding or adequate equipment.

Harper's the one who's stepped up to the plate and increased military spending to help our lads deal with the shit.

Chretien was too busy making a shitload of money during the Quebec scandal to really care about the military deficiencies.
