Just Watching "The Getaway" (1972) with Steve McQueen

A great movie,

With strong and wicked characters, my favourite with McQueen so far (Bullit might be the best known but the man has way more to offer in his filmography), directed by Sam Peckinpah who is known for some non compromising work with lots of realistic violence in his movies and this is no exception.

The kidnapping of the veterinary and his slutty wife by the psycho villain guy is more than a classic too, there ain't a dull or cheap moment in the movie.

Strongly recommended.

consider one of the best car chases in a film.

Oh yeah, I guess my fascination with vintage cars is more than connected with my favourite movies.

Walter Hill was the screenwriter as I just checked, taking over the author of the original novel.

I LOVE that movie...really one of my favorites.

If you've ever watched "The Kid Stays in the Picture" (awesome documentary about Robert Evans), you'll remember that Ali MacGraw and Steve McQueen start to have an affair during this movie. They have great chemistry.

Haven't had a chance yet, but read the whole IMDb about it already,

They sure look more than realistic as a couple.

Seen it several times, great flick.

One of my other all time fav's of his though is Papillon. Read the book too, incredible.
