Obesity Demographics

* Obesity is the second leading cause of preventable death in the U.S.61
* Approximately 127 million adults in the U.S. are overweight, 60 million are obese (Body Mass Index or BMI > 30) and 9 million are extremely obese (Body Mass Index or BMI > 40)62.
* Currently, an estimated 65.2 percent of U.S. adults, age 20 years and older, and 15 percent of children and adolescents64 are overweight and 30.5 percent are obese63(childhood or pediatric obesity).
* Approximately 62 percent of female Americans are considered overweight65.
* Approximately 67 percent of male Americans are considered overweight66.
* An estimated 400,000 deaths per year may be attributable to poor diet and low physical activity67
* It is estimated that 25-70 percent of the difference in weight between individuals is hereditary or genetic68. However, it is important to remember that genetic predisposition only impacts an individual?s tendency towards obesity.
* Researchers at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated that as many as 47 million Americans may exhibit a cluster of medical conditions (a ?metabolic syndrome? or ?Syndrome X?) characterized by insulin resistance and the presence of obesity, excessive abdominal fat, high blood sugar and triglycerides, high blood pressure (hypertension) and high cholesterol69.

Worthless food. I do eat it every once in a while though but if I want fast-food I prefer subway or some chinese take away or something.

SomeCreep 08-06-2008 05:05 PM

I prefer the Big Macs.

Of course, you can pay full price if you need the sesame seeds on top of the roll and the middle slice of the roll. :winkwink:

yea, except you need to eat like 5 of them to fill up... it sounds like a good deal, but really it's not exactly a deal of the year...

fallenmuffin 08-06-2008 07:02 PM

They charge you $0.10 for the cheese man. Get the $0.49 hamburgers instead of the $0.59 cheeseburgers. Go home and toss on some good cheese. :2 cents:

Tim, hit up Checkers on 41 Wednesday and Sunday. They have $0.69 burgers, hotdogs and shakes. Not a summer thing they've always had it :thumbsup

CaptainHowdy 08-06-2008 09:05 PM

I'm a Burger King kinda guy ...

LivePornBlog 08-06-2008 09:31 PM

Sharky 08-06-2008 09:34 PM

Mcdonalds burgers are just about as bad as Hamburger Helper!

Might as well eat it on the shitter, you will be there soon anyway!

Matt 26z 08-06-2008 09:38 PM

McDonalds quality has gone way down over the past several years.

I remember when their burgers were juicy and had flavor.

Violetta 08-06-2008 10:30 PM

I'd stay away!

dav3 08-08-2008 02:36 AM

If I get a burger from fast food, it's Hardees (not the regular little burgers, the thick burgers). It sure as hell isn't from that shithole mcdonalds.

donkevlar 08-08-2008 02:41 AM

I LOVE double cheeseburgers. Had 2 on Wednesday for the first time in 4 months. I try to keep away from McDonalds but I drove 150 miles to pick my brother up and he persuaded me to have one so I did and it was brilliant :)

tehHinjew 08-08-2008 04:31 PM

The fact they lowered the price to 59 cents influences you too buy one? How poor are you? Sounds like you need help making monies online.

dav3 08-08-2008 05:34 PM

It's odd to see the line of cars wrapped around the local mcdonalds here in town. Considering that they have the lowest quality tasting food, that means there's no line to the Hardee's!! hahahah bitches

Bird 08-08-2008 05:36 PM

Why pay 59 cents when I can pay 30 cents more for another piece of meat and cheese.

NoWhErE 08-08-2008 07:03 PM

Why not go all out and buy some REAL food? :)
