Not Georgia, but another country. This is a very complicated issue with many sides and opinions.
Just don't buy anything they tell you on TV. |
"I must protect the life and dignity of Russian citizens wherever they are. We will not allow their deaths to go unpunished."
Dmitry Medvedev, Russian President. ------------ It's true. |
hey guys open you eyes!
Russians just kick out Saakashvili's ass from South Osetia.US just checking russian new president and tring to find his weakness. |

As I recall Hitler invaded countries so that he could " Protect them " from invasion. |
Russia should leave these shitholes alone. Not many Russians want Chechnya, etc as part of Russia anyway. It's like the US invading Africa and giving everyone US citizenship there. Bunch of scumbags that flood Russia is all they get in return.

As far as I know, Gerogian "army" decided to run away when they realized that Russian army is going to protect Ossetian civilians. |
OMG... I have friends in Atlanta!!!! I wonder if they are ok?
j/k I know it's the country. |

Why not to say that Georgia wants to invade South Ossetia ? As I said earlier, this problem is kinda more difficult than Russia = bad, Georgia = good. |
Right during the start of the Olympics. Good strategy, great distraction...

Good Russia can have a shot at policing the world. I have a hint for them, if they did not learn the first time they invaded a third world country (Afghanistan) they will fail.

Russian peacekeepers confirmed killed in Georgia
A Russian officer has confirmed that several Russian peacekeepers are among casualties in South Ossetia. Marat Kulakhmetov, Commander of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone, confirmed reports of intensifying Georgian artillery fire aimed at Russian peacekeeping positions. Yuri Popov, Russia's Co-Chairman of the Joint Control Commission, who is in the conflict zone, earlier told the Itar-Tass news agency, "The headquarters of the peacekeeping forces have been partially destroyed." The Georgian military claims it has downed a Russian fighter jet over South Ossetia, but the Russian Foreign Ministry on Friday morning denied it had lost any aircraft in the region. Meanwhile, in Moscow, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is heading a meeting aimed at halting the violence. The Kremlin press service issued a statement saying the meeting was also focusing on measures to protect the civilian population and Russian citizens in the conflict zone. Russian peacekeepers, said the statement, “have a mandate…to safeguard Russian interests in the region". Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, currently on a visit to Beijing for the start of the Olympics, warned that Georgia's actions would meet a "response." Civilian fears The Russian president's envoy in South Ossetia Dmitry Medoyev warned that Tbilisi is planning a “policy of ethnic cleansing in South Ossetia.” Speaking at a press conference in Moscow, he said: “They want to cleanse South Ossetia of [ethnic] Ossetians, and this is what the Georgian armed forces are doing now”. The South Ossetian information committee said that Russian citizens among South Ossetians hiding from Georgian shelling have taken shelter in basements in the region’s capital, Tskhinvali. The region’s hospital has been destroyed by shelling, according to the Interfax news agency. The extent of civilian casualties as a result of the fighting has not yet been determined. |
Russian deaths will not be tolerated - Medvedev
President Dmitry Medvedev has promised that "Russia will not close its eyes on the deaths of Russian citizens in South Ossetia." Several Russian peacekeepers have been killed in fighting with Georgian forces. Meanwhile, Russian civilians are reported to be taking shelter in basements in the capital Tskhinvali. "It is my duty as president of the Russian Federation to protect the lives and dignity of Russian citizens, wherever they may be," Medvedev said on Friday. Marat Kulakhmetov, Commander of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone, echoed reports of intensifying Georgian artillery fire aimed at Russian peacekeeping positions. What is "GA"?
|
I guess the "peace keepers" did not do their job. Oh well. Maybe russia should not have had "peace keepers" there?

BTW, Russia is a country so it should not be written "russia". What was your score in English? Also peace keepers should be written without quotes. Learn your mother language man - it's never late. |
