What FLV player is this?

Does anyone know who makes an flv player like the ones used on sites like megarotic.com or tube8.com?

Here's a couple of links for an example:
http://www.megarotic.com/video/?v=L8HRQ2BE
http://www.tube8.com/hardcore/philippine-beauty/46000/

All the players I've been looking at so far start buffering from the beginning and you have to wait for the video to finish downloading before you can jump to near the end.

I want the "seek" feature, where users can click on any point of the timeline and the video will start buffering from that point.

Thanks for any recommendations,
James

Pretty sure it's more to do with having a proper streaming server as opposed to the player itself.

Yea doesnt have anything to do with the player, you need something else to go with it that I cant remember right now, either something installed or something in the code...
and make sure your flv has meta or wtv injected in it, as I had that problem before.

Be sure to populate the video with the meta data using flvtool2 or one of the other few meta tools. Then setup streaming to save bandwidth, otherwise the user is forced to download in order to seek. Look into lighttpd, as it has a streaming module. It's not as good as some commercial products, but it's free so you can't complain.

get a custom made player with buffering

You need a streaming server or use 'php streaming' to be able to 'seek' into flash movies. So it has nothing to do with the payer, most of the players out there have the function, but without a streaming server it won't work.

A streaming server can be quite expensive, so it's better to use lighttpd with the streaming flv module which is free.

Also as mentioned befor the videos need to be injected with the right metadata.

you need something like wowza media to go with the player to allow true streaming

I think you only need to add keyframes to the flv. Piece of cake.

Flash Media Server, Wowza, red5 will all do the job. But in this case I think your best of with lighttpd. Lighttpd is exactly made for this job.

Thanks for all the great information.

Flash Media Server & Wowza both start at around $1,000. red5 is nice because it is open source. I'm worried that red5 might not be far enough down the development stages to be quite ready for us yet.

lighttpd with with the streaming flv module sounds very interesting. Anyone using this right now? Could I set this up on a server already running apache, so both are running on the same machine? Or do you need to have a dedicated server for lighttpd?

We got it on www.tradingporn.com (to be promoted through www.pin2cash.com )
Works like a charm, had the server peaking at about 200 mbit so far without any problems, it's easy on CPU as well :thumbsup
