Who Makes More? Site Owners or Affiliates?
I have heard both sides of this argument but it's been a few years...
What say you?:pimp |
some site owners make more than some affiliates and some affiliates make more than some site owners
i'm pretty sure i have quite a few affiliates that make more than i do |
Site owners differently have a leg up but they're overhead is insane. Dedicated servers, bandwidth, content, designs, video editing and formatting, etc. etc.
With an affiliate $19.95/mo for hosting and you can make unlimited income. It just depends on the person. |
yeah...but it's almost like a Casino ...right? Isn't the "house" always supposed to win?

yea paysite overhead is crazy.
affiliates usually earn half for not doing much. (compared to the work of the site owner) a smart hard working affiliate with a background in marketing and that wants to do more than just copy everyone else will make bank. look at the hun. one of the web's first millionaires. didnt own any pay sites.. |
A better question is how much is the average paysite owner profiting monthly? I'm not talking the mega networks but the average ccbill or small paysite owner?
|
Aggregate? The Affiliates. Invariably. Fallenmuffin has nailed it on the head.
|
this is really interesting question, bump for more opinions

Impossible to say.

Most site owners worth a salt are affiliates as well.

well since I am my own biggest affiliate, I get the best of both worlds :)
|
I would have to say. Paysite owners.
Sales without refcodes come in. So they go to the house account. |
Site owners get 50% share minimum, affiliates get much less

I agree on that |
site owners

it doesn't take rocket science to figure out that site owners make less per transaction than the affiliate that sent the sale
and on the same token it's very easy to figure out that some affiliates that send me a few sales a every day also send a few sales every day to a 100 other programs. these affiliates run big link lists tgps review sites etc etc.... and are the 10% of your affiliate base that makes 90% of your sales |
Our affiliates have a good deal...50% of the cash and we pay for everything else from making the movies to the hosting....
But the more affiliates we get the unit costs go down so at a certain point it can be profitable. The problem for the affiliates is how they generate the traffic to send and how they keep their visitors happy without spending too much on content.... The sites that were first on the block have the upper hand |
there are more affiliates than there are owners.
Owners earn a lot more in a global perspective. However some affiliates do quite well for themselves :) |
How long is a piece of string?
|
The bigger well known pay sites I'm sure get TONS of type ins and se traffic. I'm betting there's lots of errors and cookie deleting type things where the affiliates lose out on sales too. Affiliate code tracking isn't going to work 100% of the time.

Of course a lot of punters bookmark and come back months later....but on the other hand affiliates get 50% of rebill too.. So I think they get a pretty good deal.... |
The top earners are the smart paysites.
When the surfer becomes a member they are the ones that can start milking in all sorts of ways. That is why paysite owners are the best affiliates.... :2 cents: |
