Content Manager looking for a new job...

Hello, my name is Karl Riedel (former Content Manager of Pink TV). I am looking for a company that produces content, or could use my services managing content in the adult industry. While I understand that most companies utilize a computerized CMS (Content Management System), someone is ultimately responsible for entering data and meta-tags to identify content and make it searchable on the web. I am searching for a company that could use my services to enter such generalized data, and possibly more, and I have a solid history in the industry to make myself marketable and useful across platforms, genres, and media formats.

At this point, I would be grateful just to get my foot in the door and start working on some projects. I’m self-motivated, hardworking, adaptable, and educated (I have a Bachelor of Arts from Miami University [OH] and finished my 1st year of law school at University of Miami [FL]). I would genuinely appreciate any opportunities you have available. Throw me some side projects, give me a chance to prove myself, and let’s see what happens.

So to start, let me give you a brief synopsis of my background and experience:
I worked as the Content Manager for Pink TV for 2 years, and have been in & out of the adult industry for about 4-5 years. At Pink TV, I was responsible for editing/batching photosets, watermarking, generating thumbnails, file transfer protocol (FTP) of images/video/graphics/etc. between international servers, writing video descriptions, updating meta-tags/identifiers (e.g., blonde, brunette, anal, DP, BGG, speculum, etc.), maintaining a detailed Excel spreadsheet documenting all content produced, including dates of production, talent/cast, etc., and publishing content daily on our network. Pink TV utilized an internal CMS (Content Management System) developed by our programming team, and I have a pretty extensive background in computers.

As far as production goes, I also assisted in production including operating VT4 software and live switching, operating handheld and PTZ cameras, lighting, and audio mixing. Our production was streaming live via Windows Media Encoder, and we also recorded daily backups of all content produced using DVR software. Hardcore scenes were edited separately by post-production, and I worked closely with that department and our graphics/animation team to meet deadlines and keep our content fresh.

I’ve spent the last year working in a technical yet rather “vanilla” job as an IT Technician for Commercial Jet, Inc. (Miami International Airport). I’ve become a lot more familiar with the technical aspect of systems, and was responsible for the setup and configuration of computer workstations, servers, and multiplexers on an internally managed network. More specifically, I’ve been working as a technician doing software installation and upgrades, mounting and configuration of surveillance cameras; technical support and troubleshooting network configurations using Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Vista OS platforms, Windows 2003 Server, Windows Media Server and Windows Media Encoder. I’ve also been responsible for the physical labor aspect such as running CAT5E and RG6 cabling, and mounting and configuring fixed and PTZ cameras as well as microphones.

Basically, that’s my story. I recently left Commercial Jet and am looking to get back into the adult industry. Once you’ve worked “in the business”, nothing else can really compare. I really believed in Pink TV as a concept, but unfortunately our president egregiously mismanaged funds, and I sat by and watched as our great Titanic sank. Please get in contact with me at your earliest convenience to discuss. It’s been so hard to shop around a resume in the adult industry, but I promise you that I will do whatever I can to help your company. Thanks for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Too bad I'm not in the content industry. You sound like a marvelous candidate.

Here's a bump for you, that's all I can do from this end.

well, thanks for the bump. HA!
willing to relocate? Los Angeles? Been considering, but I'm not going anywhere without anything planned out accordingly. I've definitely considered LA. At this point, I don't have a lot of bargaining power. I just need a job! I'm open to offers/suggestions!

I remember meeting some of the principals and getting a tour of the PinkTV studio in Miami while it was operating a few years ago. It was quite an impressive setup, and a lot of money had been spent on it and branding the company in a short time, probably way too much. I had a feeling it was going to burn out fast. I have seen that phenomenon more than a few times when big money is spent on a porn startup company. Set top boxes for interactive porn tv, it was supposed to be , right? That idea was and is and always will be a total non-starter, unfortunately. Good luck with your job search.
