Ever had a video games related injury?
This has to go down as one of the dumbest injuries I have done to myself. Yesterday, I somehow got sucked into playing one of those casual gaming pc games..the Yahoo games type games. So, not even a really top class game but enough to keep me occupied for a good part of a lazy day. The game involved a lot of mouse clicking and about half way through the time I was playing I started to feel like my hand was getting tired but thought it wasn't much. I eventually gave up for the night and ended up having a hard time sleeping last night because of a aching pain in my hand. When I did finally get some sleep I then woke up this morning with a so much pain in the middle finger of my 'mouse hand' that I can barely move it.
Anybody else ever had a video game related injury? |
I've never done that playing videogames, but I've had something similar happen from playing guitar.

Ah back in SEGA era, my hands where like BBQ after all night Mortal Combat fights...

Maybe not an injury as such, but i've punched my head a few times when losing at games. And yeah it hurts...

There is a gamers disease going around called 'Nintendo Thumb'. You can cure it by getting a life.
|
Nintendo Thumb is also a worldwide epidemic that is plaguing the text message community
|
I've gotten callouses and bloody blisters on my fingers from gaming too much before.... :(

FINISH HIIM! |
I caused injury to others.. I used to hate getting beat at games and had a bad temper. So when playing friends if I lost I used to bounce my controllers off the ground (not good coz my mum had to then buy me new ones) and one time I threw it off the wall and it bounced right back and hit my friend on the nose. Blood everywhere and him pissed off with me for 2 days LOL
We laugh about it to this day. |

Then we try to make sure we have enough distance between ourselves because a few times during the boxing people almost did get smacked pretty hard. |
Videogame injury really hurts....even more in the next day!
|
I tried walking in front of the TV once while a Wii game was going on. My nephew swung his arm around and caught me under the chin. I saw stars and my jaw was pretty sore for the rest of the day, but at least the remote didn't break lol
|
I hit someone pretty hard in Wii tennis and back in the early atari days I remember having hand cramps.
|
Just raw thumbs from too many hours playing nintendo when I was a teen.
|
Somebody threw a Loonie ($1) @ me and it hit my eye. The coin was supposed to be inserted it in to a (arcade) machine.
Does that count? |
nope not me.

Injury, no. I think back in the early 80's I once had a medium bout of pac-man wrist. That's about it.
But about 10 years ago I was playing some James Bond shoot em up game on my nephew's gaming system, I don't even remember what kind of console it was.... but while drunk one night I played that game for something like 6 hours straight, and the simulated motion of running through endless tunnels and caves and tombs etc eventually made me dizzy and woozy enough to puke. Nothing requiring physiotherapy though. :D |

I know someone who got tennis-elbow from playing Q-Bert :)
|
I had seriously burning eyes from playing tetris way too many hours. Think it was from my contacts drying out.
|
I once tore some cartiledge in my knee while playing guitar hero

Videogame injuries are the coolest kind to have! My thumbs are like little athletes :thumbsup:thumbsup
|
I've had my thumb get tired. I don't think I've ever actually hurt myself, though.
|
I don't play games anymore

Dont remember anymore but i am sure there was it.
|
I wish. Years of various videogames have done nothing; trackpads, however..
|
Lol that sucks
