|
SI has a nice series of pics that you can clearly see Phelps won.
|

I'm sure that has nothing to do with this thread... WG |
I think I don't care TOO much about it and I certainly don't trust photos in today's day and age, regardless of who takes or publishes them.
It was close enough to have gone either way, and as is in all such cases, the winner gets to celebrate while the loser bitches. |

Just wondering.... And there are so many talks on this subject in Serbia these days.. |

It's not a visual thing, there is an electronic touch pad in the pool. Right after the race it showed Phelps as the winner. Unless it was all staged, the photos don't really mean anything.
|
Rules: Swimmer need to touch sensor with both hands!
|
to me the photo on SportsIlustrated was pretty conclusive that Phelps touched first - could be wrong, nobody will truly ever know.
|
He BARELY won but he won. I watched it over and over again. It was amazing but he pulled it off. Cavic almost had it, he would have, if he would have booked it the last few yards.!
|
Photos or not, Omega doesn't fucking lie, so stop stirring shit over nothing. He outtouched Cavic, the computer is there to prove it.
|
Cavic would have won had he taken 1 more stroke. He coasted the last 3/4 yard with his hands outstretched and if you're not accelerating, you're decelerating - Phelps used that distance for 1 more stroke and caught up
1/100th of a second won't show up in any photo - it's all about the sensors on the wall... |
i thought it was a tie, isnt that possible?

Nice drama
|
technically a tie is NOT possible
If you can measure in the one one thousandths of a second a tie is a statistical improbability, anyone working with computers should be able to understand that The touch pads dont lie y'all its that simple, camera angles can be decieving but a 20 year old PC can determine who touched that pad first with ease...do you know how long 1/100th of a second is to a even a 386? its a fucking eternity |

Phelps is really a giant in his field, a truly remarkable man!

Phelps won because the computer said so...why would the computer bullshit?

That is how Lezak beat the French guy (as I recall). |

you guys who think Plelps lost have got to be kidding me? You are comparing the pictures that show them before they touched the wall, no shit the other guy was closer. He was gliding in the last stroke and Phelps had his hands moving a lot faster since they were not already stretched out as far as possible.
Also about rigging the clock LOLOL, so your saying it was programmed to make Phelps win if someone happens to beat him just by a super small fraction of a second? It is not like the race ends and they have to print the photos to pick the winner. They turned around and it was displayed who won. Or maybe you think it just took .01 seconds off or whatever. I can't blame you though cause if Phelps had lost this would be the same thread with the same bitching just the other way around hahha. No matter who wins someone still lost by 1/100 of a second. |

Phelps = FAIL, like there was any doubt...
