Back home from hell. From Eva Markham
Instead going for holiday as normal people do in summer, my destiny took me different way and took me to the hospital.
As you all know I had month ago bad car accident, do not remember anything (lucky me) and spend over month in hospital. First third I do not remember, I was on good drugs having good dreams, than I was just laying down doing nothing and the last two weeks I was doing lots of exercises to get home quickly. I did not believe that my legs will not be strong any more to carry me, they were nothing wrong with them just bruises, so why I should learn to walk, but the true was different. The nurse told me that the first time on my legs will be like if I would drink wine. My question was how much wine did I drink. :1orglaugh Just to say thank you for all your support and I will go over all the messages you posted. |
Good to see you back Eva.

Glad to hear you are okay. I had a bad car accident in the summer of 2002 which broke my neck and both arms. I spent the summer in the hospital in ICU and had to go through the same thing with every muscle in my body atrophied and had to work hard to walk again myself.
Don't get discouraged. I went in the hospital in May of 02, got home in June. And was onstage playing in a band by the end of August. Just be determined and you're body will heal. |
Great to see you strong enough to type!! I hope it"s a quick recovery!!!

Nice to hear you are doing well I broke my leg in an accident this year and my knees are pretty much fucked. My ordeal wasn't even close to yours but I know how you feel I was disabled for a month. Good to see you made a full recovery I don't even know you but am touched by this thread.
|
Reminds you of how precious and fragile life can be....
Welcome back. |
Congrats on your recovery! and welcome back. :)
|
Good to hear you are getting better
|
Welcome back!!!
|
Thanks for support.
It did not took me long to walk. I went in tree different departments and in the first I had nurse for myself, in the next one there was nurse for two tree patients sitting near by and in the rehabilitation there was two nurses for 20 patients, if you need ring the bell and I got frustrated when I was sitting on the toilet or by the sink brushing my teeth, that make me quickly to start walking so I do not need to wait for help. |
Go Eva...Go Eva...I'm so happy you are doing better:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup
Paul must be jumping for joy:winkwink: |
You would not believe that couple weeks ago I could not even hold up magazine and when I found what I want to read it close couple times so I had to find it again. And one of the first messages on my mobile to my friend which just was "Thank you" I had to typed about 15 minutes.:thumbsup
|
He does it his Birthday today, really.
|
Very nice to have you back..... you are one tough cookie to get thru that so well, the fight in you should be duly noted by anyone that knows you...
............ or was it you felt you needed to hurry and get home? We all know men when left alone to their own devices..... tv dinners all around and pink drawers (panties) for all. right? lmao Seriously, it is very nice to see you home and back to let us know how you are. :thumbsup |
Sorry, I reply the last post as Paul did not check that he was here as well. Have to get use to computers again.:upsidedow
Thank you all to welcome me back and wish me to get well soon. I promise that I will do all my best and next year I will be skiing again.:thumbsup |
You got me. I was hurrying home for those reasons. It was a bit mess in the house. My daughter left the house last Sunday and the coloring pencils and other her thing were left all week on the table. Did not walk upstairs yet.:1orglaugh

Think positive thoughts and before you fall asleep think of your legs the way they were before the accident. Concentrate on them being the same.
|
good to have you back!!
|
glad to hear you're OK. From the initial reports we thought you'd never walk again... It's a good thing they weren't right :)
|
Thanks, but my legs are fine the trouble I had is my back. I had to wear hard plastic corset during the day and Paul does not want to take me to the airport any more because I have some metal inside me and will cause troubles.:Oh crap

Welcome back. I wish you a speedy recovery. A friend of mine was driving with her 2 year old son in their xterra when a transfer truck trailer drifted into her lane and the back wheels ran over her hood and flipped her car 20 times over down an embankment. They both survived but she was in very critical condition for a long time. They had to replace every bone in her foot with pins and metal rods so she'll never walk the same again. Leg and foot injuries are no joke. Glad to hear you came out of this okay.
|
Yay! :) So glad you're ok! Hope you have a speedy recovery :thumbsup Welcome back!
