Curious-is it ok for a girl to ask a guy out?
My friend and I were debating this topic in a random conversation.
The guy meets someone and they have a really fun night, the guy contacts the girl the next day to thank her for a great time. she says the same then invites the guy to a concert or whatever. So she technically asked the guy out before they asked her? I told my girlfriend I don't think it's the way to go, she says there shouldn't be an issue with it if the guy contacted her first about having a great time with her. We are interested in getting some opinions on this one. :upsidedow |
ha, who cares live your life. If you like someone say it, if you hate em move on.
|
I think women inherently pick there men.
The whole leaving it up to the guy to make the first move is total bullshit. Girls just play it like that but make no mistake the girl is the one that call's the shots on things like this. Hoping that guy ask's you out is a funny silly old school girls game it's 2008 and you are supposed to be assertive in what ya want. SO hang it up ladies and get the cock you want before it gets away. |
It is definitely ok
|
Yes ofcourse it is ok.
It just means the girl is putting herself out there to get shot down.. but no guy ever turns a girl down unless she's fat.. soo.. yah.. Most girls i've banged or dated picked me up.. I love aggressive women! |
who the fuck cares
|
why shouldn't girl ask someone to get on date is better question...
|
Jeez... the guy called afterward to say he had a good time... what's stopping ya? I see no problem with it, in fact, it's pretty cool. The concert is a nice touch too.
|
The guy made a mistake by calling her the next day.

I said it is a bit of a game to do the wait, but also that sometimes people like the old-fashioned way. she said if you like the person, then why not? Nothing wrong with letting them know you like them. If they are a game player on the chase, then why waste time on them at all. I concurred though many have their own ways of how they see things. So that is why we wanted to get others opinions. it's an old question, but the answer is still evasive a bit. |
One thing about the US culture that's extremely exciting to me is actually the fact that women are in general much more initiative.
I don't see an issue with that, we all have limited time to enjoy and are in many times afraid to get close, so be it. |
Of course it's ok. Closed mouthes dont get fed and if she's hungry for sausage she need to order from the menu before someone else comes and takes her plate.
|
when ya see somethin ya gotta have, take it. don't wait for anything but the small sign that he will be a willing plaything. she got that sign, she's good to go.
|
i guess it is whatever comes naturally during the conversation

I don't see whats wrong with girls asking guys. I think its awesome.
|
Yeah, it's okay for the girl to ask him out. The question would not be on the board if the girl said "Hey you wanna have sex?

i don't even see the problem with this.. he calls her and she gives a suggestion?
|
I wish they did more often!
|
wtf?????
|
I *love* a woman who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to ask for it. No head games, no guess work - who wouldn't love that?
And, at dinner if she orders a nice meal instead of just a salad - those be brownie points! Skinny women with growling stomachs isn't a turn-on! |

I'm kinda shy so I like that ...
|
Yes its ok, and don't be shy... Yes Ill go out with you.
|
I think it's fine. If you like the guy and he likes you, then why not ask if there's something in particular you want to do with him.
I just gotta find the right guy to ask. Haven't run across a right one in a long long time. Baseball, football (once baseball is done), theater (movies and live), dinners out... Dang I'm boring. PK |
What year is this?

A woman who expects the man to make the first move on every tiny little thing needs to wake up and move her ass out of the 18th century. The only men who appreciate ridiculous little "games" like that are the ones who expect you to give up your job once you get married, and spend the time you're not cooking either cleaning, doing laundry, or giving birth. The rest of us, however, tend to prefer women with things like a spine and a brain. We want an independent adult who is capable of making her own decisions and will let us know what she wants. |
I dont mind it

some guys like to make the first move - in this day and age, it should not matter. So I was asking opinions in hopes that mature answers would be posted regardless if the question seems immature. and no, I am not 12. I am 13. |

It is women that need to be "figured out" because [for the most part] you can't just take them at their word. They say one thing but mean another and other such b.s. It is 2008. If you want to ask us out, ask us out. If you want us to sex you up in a certain manner, tell us. It is okay. Just tell us what you want, and stop being so coy with your answers and you will probably have a lot more fun. Case in point |
Of course, so long as she is a cougar.
I dig a broad who knows what she wants, too. If it ain't me she can't have me.. No constantly trying to change me or putting up with things she doesn't like or any of that.. I'm perfect company to her or I don't keep that company. :) |

Fuck it.
This thread just made me register menexplained.com. Apparently, a site explaining men to women is needed. |

Personally I've never asked a guy out but that's the "You can't even call a boy" mentality I was raised with in the 70's. Now I just flirt enough to let them know I'm interested and usually land a date, lol.
