I really wanna move out.. here r my reasons..

Ok, i think im in need for a change..

Ive been in NJ/NY area for 8yrs, i just graduated college, im 22yrs old now..

ALL my friends are working 9-5 so i barely see them during the week.

I get to hang out with my GF after she comes back from work..

Frankly i think theres more to life than this.. Its gonna get cold up here soon and then everyone is gonna stay home..

Its driving me crazy sitting inside all day all week cuz everyone else is at work...

In college it was easy, friends everywhere, after college hanging out with people is a whole diff case.

I think i need a new life. Wanna move to somewhere else

Probably stay few months in panama, then head of to CR, then islands, then Caribbean.. or something..

Basically i want to sell all my stuff, pocket the cash, and move out..

I have all my family spread across different states and ill be able to see them easily by flying back here..

Only problem is i have a gf and she'll be hurt a lot and she cant come with me.

Dude you are 22. Right now you should be enjoying the lack of responsibilities that you have. If you don't, someday you will regret it.

Do some soul-searching... you seem very confused lately.

BusterBunny 08-25-2008 09:02 PM

how much you want for the girlfriend?:Graucho

punker barbie 08-25-2008 09:04 PM

u were 16 when u registered on GFY? LOL

punker barbie 08-25-2008 09:05 PM

ps) why cant ur girlie go with you?

Kristian 08-25-2008 09:09 PM

You only live once. Go where the heart leads. Before you move anywhere for good though try a short vacation there first. Most people in the world want to move to where you live. Keep that in mind. Maybe it's not a move you need. Maybe you need some more friends you can see during working hours. I bet if you hang out at starbucks you'll bump into plenty of webmasters. Good luck, anyway. :thumbsup

xxweekxx 08-25-2008 09:11 PM

yeah.. well my gf is on OPT(intl student), and her company is trying to file for her.. so she gotta stay with em for at least a yr..

bottom line is she is INTL student, no USA passport so if she leaves aint no coming back for her..

If you aren't happy with what you have, you're never going to be happy with something else. Happiness is a state of mind. Yeh, different things and different opportunities make you more happy because it's what you enjoy... but simply moving is not going to take you from confused to happy.

well ive been in NJ/NY for 8yrs. i need a change..

I was in college so i didnt mind, now i graduated, im like WTF

Im here paying $1,500 a month in rent in NJ, yet for half that ill be living somewhere nicer if i moved... Not to talk of insurance and utilities here..

Basically i dont see a reason why i am here. Most of my friends went back home after college, only a few left here.. only person here is my GF and like 3 or 4 friends

Yeh I went from paying high rent to low-rent thinking it would be great... it ended up being not so great. You to use to the amenities of a big city and you end up really missing that.

where do u live now

starpimps 08-25-2008 11:21 PM

you need hobbies that get you out of the house....

Supz 08-25-2008 11:38 PM

Ive been in south florida for the last 4 years. I will be back living in NYC next week. I was there for the entire month of July and there is truly nothing like it. The great weather here cannot compare to what NYC has to offer. You can always take trips to tropical places.

Holly Lez! 08-25-2008 11:42 PM

Do it now when you are young! I have been feeling the same way lately but am just a bit older then you lol... You will be happy you did no regrets!

Yeah, that's good advice...

After Shock Media 08-26-2008 12:12 AM

Ah fuck me. Does it not bother anyone else at all beyond a small joke that he was way underage when he joined here and more than likely had sponsors giving him access to porn and also paying him? I mean this shit is seen all the time on here when people finally state their real age and you look at their join date and realize they were kids when they started.

wdsguy 08-26-2008 02:51 AM

I had the same feelings last few years after getting out of college. I mean college was a blast, just kickin it with people and having a good time. Its a big let down when you graduate and everyone actually has real responsibilities.

Find a hobby, travel (even short trips helps) , work on some new projects. It sounds like you need to do something to break your "boring routine" at this point so if you need to travel the world to get it out of your system - do it.

In Europe you'll need much more than $1,5k since usd is worth shit in here (usd/eur).
So you should really go to east... it's way much cheaper there and you'll have a lot of fun there, but even if you go alone - it won't change a thing...

I'm in NJ and don't always work 9-5. The beauty of self-employment is that you can make your own hours sometimes. You still need to take care of your customers needs though.

You are a free spirit right now, but someday you (And your friends) may get married, have kids, buy a house and routine will be quite normal. Do some traveling, but keep the finances in order for the long term. Get an IRA or two going now.

xxweekxx 08-26-2008 04:12 AM

ya im being smart with my money..

what do you mean go EAST??

Michaelious 08-26-2008 04:16 AM

I think he means like China, India etc. Go and see the world.
Your money will go further there.

ive criss cross moved across country back and forth numerous times, left home when I was young and hit the road. Left behind all my high school friends, family - some have died, some have gotten fat... sometimes i get the itch to hit the road just to fucking go.

the shit you see when you leave home is worth more than the years you spent in that shithole you call a hometown.

I speak from first hand experience and can only encourage those who want to pull a jack Kerouac and hit "The Road. The Road taught me more than school.

take what you can carry and rid it all goodbye, dont even look back.

just realize once you leave, you can never really go back... nothing will ever be the same.

may the bridges that burn light your way

of course i was, but I wanted to get the fuck out of shithole hometown like most colleg-aged guys.

if you havent moved out, of course it sounds more scary than after youve lived on your own for a decade or so and then move again.... but really there isnt much to be afraid of.

Ive driven across country with all my belongings, and ive had to leave things behind because i couldnt fit them. Ive been in the middle of the desert with an overheating car and no cellphone etc... i am 32 and wouldnt take back any of the years i spent confused and not knowing which direction to turn.

its those bad turns and choices who make us who we are.

out struggles define us.

Fletch XXX 08-26-2008 04:33 AM

ps i moved from racist south to sunny california.

thats like moving from texas to france

and it was as different as another country to me at the time...

I agree with 2 earlier posters. I'd say to backpack around europe for a few months before you even think moving around like that on a more permanent basis. I'd also agree with the other poster who said you'd get assraped on the conversion from the dollar to euros.

You can try to travel around southeast asia (what I think that poster meant by EAST) to Thailand, Philippines, etc. That is probably a way bigger culture shock, but lots of americans seem to like it.

nico-t 08-26-2008 04:41 AM

yea i know the feeling, i really need a change...

xxweekxx 08-26-2008 04:50 AM

i was thinking more like panama,CR,DR, instead of southeast asia

BVF 08-26-2008 05:07 AM

Get the fuck outta there and instead of Costa Rica, try Belize.....It's in Central America, English speaking, and peaceful......You'll thank me later..

It's fortunate that you are so young without children and can afford to do what you want....Enjoy it before you get somebody knocked up......In 2006 I threw out most of my shit and moved to Puerto Rico for a year....and I had two children to think about.....

It will hurt leaving your gf....You might even cry.....But once you're gone and breathe in that tropical breeze and that sunshine hits your face, you'll get over it....

xxweekxx 08-26-2008 05:14 AM

BVF i was actually gonna make a post asking you stuff. i know uve been around ive seen your pics of visit to nigeria, etc..

QUestion, why dont you move from puerto rico to belize?

I was in Puerto Rico in a gated community and had my oldest kid set up at a nice english speaking private school....I was bored to tears but I was living nicely......The only reason I'm not living there right now is because I'm divorced and have two small children....This is why I'm currently stuck here in fucked up MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN because that's where the mother lives and the courts said the kids are to be here during the school year....Since I have joint custody, I get half time as long as I live here also....

I can't even take my kids to visit Belize because the woman won't sign the passport applications for them......Maybe one day she'll soften up but because she can't live the same lifestyle that I can, she won't allow the kids to live it either....That's what comes with having children with a selfish woman....So if I can't even visit Belize with the kids, living there was out of the question, which is why I chose Puerto Rico because it's a US Territory...

I'm 37.....YOU on the other hand are young and free.....You can walk the fuck out right now and NOBODY can tell you otherwise....You don't have to pay a lawyer damn near 200 an hour...You don't have to disclose your finances to the court...You don't have to fight over children (I did) ...You don't have to pay alimony (me neither)....etc...et muthafucking cetera.......What would you do if your lawyer showed you a printout of your earnings from CCBill themselves due to a subpoena asked for by the woman's attorney?.....Fuck that shit!

When I was 22, I was BROKE.....You have money and youth....Why waste it laying up under a piece of pussy in New Jersey?

I just got a call from the ex-wife while I was writing this......She lives seven minutes away from a job that she likes and because she's too intoxicated, she's going to miss her second day of work.....Since she's a temp, she's obviously going to get fired yet again.....She's a fucking failure in life...She just admitted that she can't drive to work because she doesn't want to injure herself or anybody else....So since my oldest child is over her house, I gotta go get her later on...The youngest one is behind me asleep because I don't trust leaving her over the mom's house when she's like this....

THIS IS THE KIND OF FUCKING BULLSHIT that an old man like me has to go through......I couldn't even fucking imagine having to go through this while working a 9-5 job paying me little to nothing because I could be driven to pull a Scott Peterson on that bitch........Fortunately for me, I have the free time to watch both of them....

GET THE FUCK OUT OF NEW JERSEY while you still can....And don't look back....You can always afford to fly back and visit.

i would do some tests first
for example going on few long vacations first
then trying to find some new friends in the current area, best other webmasters, since they will have flexible work hours like you, joing some groups by interests is a good start as well

clickyoucutie 08-26-2008 05:48 AM

Go on and have some fun! Life is too short! Travel the world and meet new people. Do it now before you get older and end up getting settled. you'll regret it if you don't at least try some new things!

the people in those places are as lonely as you. You need to continue with college as it seems to be the only thing that made you happy... plus, you get to keep your gf :2 cents:

xxweekxx 08-26-2008 06:10 AM

college was fun cuz i had people everywhere.. but am i gonna go to college forever?lol

i think i should do extended trips.. like spend 2-3months in a place.. besides if i dont like it ill just bounce back to USA.
