Microsofts IE8 to include "Porn Mode"

Microsoft is to implement new "privacy" features to IE8:

http://www.computerworld.com/action/...leId=9113 419

"The most intriguing tool, and the one that has prompted the porn mode label, was called InPrivate Browsing by Microsoft. When enabled, IE8 will not save browsing and searching history, cookies, form data and passwords; it also will automatically clear the browser cache at the end of the session."

Taking into account most affiliate commissions are tracked through cookies this could be quite a problem. Hopefully most people won't be clever enough to find/use this feature.

I can see a major impact to traffic brokers as well, as no cookie traffic will increase dramatically...

Doesn't Microsoft realize that their adsales division would suffer from this?

So it doesn't save cookies as you browse from page to page? I think it would be better if it removed cookies on close.Damn.

I am quite sure they will make it work for "them".

But fuck everyone else.

IE 7 is just too slow I fucking hate it!
For everyday browsing almost any other browser is faster and safer than IE.

Fuck, when is it coming out??

Server-Side cookies w/ GEO-IP matching in a given timeframe. We can all share a backend, and mine user data together! :) WEEEEE!

Not exactly, Mozilla say they are working to implement the same idea.

Well, Opera's already doing their best by labeling all links with refer.ccbill.com/cgi-bin/clicks.cgi as fraudulent scams, I guess this is just the next step.
