Shut the fuck up about being descended from immigrants
I'm watching what seems like an endless parade of Democratic party clowns give speeches and nobody in the convention center is even listening to them blather on - every one of them at some point feels it necessary to say with pride that he/she is the descendant of (fill in the shitty European country of your choice) immigrants and how hard they worked to create the American dream - it's like it's required - enough already

Yes. Our great-great grandfathers worked their asses off so we could get pissed when a Wendy's Double Cheeseburger goes up to $1.19 and our fat ass doesn't want to go shopping.

My great grandfather was a cook on ship from italy. He jumped ship to be here.

Then again, he'd be pretty fucking old, so we could be cranky together. :thumbsup |

My great great great grandparents came on a ship from Germany...
Seriously... who hasn't? I would love to see numbers on how many Americans are descendents of people that came to the United States within the past 200 years. I bet it would be like 80% or something ridiculously high. |

I haven't had Wendy's in months. I've become a chicken breast, rice, and vegetables anti-American. I don't like having the runs. :( |
growing up we always had slaves.. i remember my father used to make me beat them for their slightest indescretions..
it wasnt until i was drafted and sent off to vietnam that i realized there was more to america than just applie pie and a blowjob behind old man smiths 57' chevy... |

There is a difference between immigrants now and immigrants then.
Take away the welfare system and see how many jump the fence to pop out babies here. My ancestors did not have a free meal, free medical care and so on. Nor should they. That is what made America great. People could come WORK HARD WITHOUT HANDOUTS and become something. Now most come here for the hand outs. |

The country wants a posterboy that is a *product* of this country. Yeah yeah we are all children of immigrants, it is one great thing about this country, but its over 200 years old now and we have our own values here. Obama wasn't raised by two American parents, more specifically he did not have an American father. He does not represent most of this country. He does however represent a large portion of immigrants and first/second generation Americans but thats it. |
I have to go back at least 6 generations to find the folks from Wales who came over to work in the copper mines and the Irish who came over after the potato famine so I'm a long way from descending from anyone but American Rednecks ;)

Obama is the modern American Dream!!
