Because they're fair and balanced.

:winkwink:

Why doesn't Charles Krauthammer get tired of neoconmen's balls slapping his chin?

Mutt 08-26-2008 08:34 PM

these conventions mean nothing - both parties' candidates get a bounce following their respective feelgood conventions but they're meaningless as far as what happens in November.

Too bad she wasn't picked ... stupid, stupid, stupid mistake!!!

PornNewz 08-26-2008 08:52 PM

Yep, she nailed it.

Fox News is the biggest joke. Just saw a clip from after the Michelle Obama speech and the talking head on Fox News said "well, if you change the word "world" with "country" in her speech, you can get the meaning.........." WTF? now Fox News wants to change words in Michelle's speech and make you believe she meant something she did not say.

Fox News is for brain dead republican sheep.

uno 08-26-2008 09:54 PM

I thought Michelle's speech was much much better.

What I can't understand is the Democrats who won't vote because their girl never got in. So they stay at home and McCain gets elected. Not the wisest move. Even if you disagree with the choice others made it has to be better than letting the opposition in.

Or is it all about personalities?

Many of the Pumas (Party Unity My Ass) democrats that are supporting Hillary feel that if they vote for McCain, or just don't vote that McCain will win, he will suck and Hillary will run and get elected in 2012. The problem with that logic is that there is no way of knowing if she will even run in 2012. Also what if McCain is a decent president? It is very hard to unseat a incumbent president. They are basically cutting off their nose to spite their face.

Although I have often said that the democrats seem to always find new and interesting ways to lose election. If Obama loses and these Puma people are the cause it will be a new one for sure. I personally think that there are far too few of these people to really have much of an effect on the outcome, but you never know.

bausch 08-27-2008 03:45 AM

how does she memorize her speech? Is it just all memorized or is there a telepromopter or is she using cue cards?

It's all about personalities.

Hillary was a registered Republican and switched in college. Party is not so important imo.

Obama will lose ultimately because he did not want to deal with the Clintons. Not that I think an Obama/Clinton ticket was a win, but Obama's popularity will now go stagnant.

I have no doubt that she will try to run again. It is all about the political climate.

McBush will win and it is just going to be another 4 years of the same. Her chances have gone nowhere, and if she keeps impressing people in the meantime it can only benefit her in the long run.

Hillary's speech was fantastic! However, it did nothing for the Obama campaign. In fact, it probably hurt his campaign! I suspect that most Dems are continuing to ask themselves, why not Hillary?! And, what was he (Obama) thinking?! Biden will not come anywhere close to delivering a speech as good as Hillary's! All she did was protect her political future by setting herself up for a future run.

Cyndalie 08-27-2008 05:35 AM

She did a good job.
Actually her and Obama's 'plan for america' are very similar, the difference is in the small details or what they 'call' certain things. Other than face value, there is no reason why a Clinton supporter wouldn't vote for Obama.

CIVMatt 08-27-2008 05:58 AM

Omg her speech sucked

Even the crappy Washingtonpost is writing about it http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...603921_pf.html

Unfortunately, there is. In the primary's, Hillary (and Biden) mentioned that they thought Obama was not ready to be Commander in Chief! That's powerful stuff! Typically, candidates of the same party will debate the issues in the months leading up to the convention and nomination. Not that a fellow candidate is not ready for the office! I was hoping Hillary would correct that earlier statement last night -- saying that she thought Barack was fit for the Presidency. She did not. Again, while a great speech, I do not think she did enough for Barack Obama.
