Canadians, get ready for a nasty winter..

Tons of snow, -40 tempatures.:disgust

"The coming Canadian winter will be crueller than usual even catastrophic, according to the US based farmers Almanac. It says in 2009 Canadian edition that most of the country will experience -40C weather weather or worse."

Article I read in the news paper this morning.. I think I'm going to move to Mexico.

Joe BrainCash 08-29-2008 08:23 AM

Isn't that what we had last winter?

I know we beat every record of snow.

PennyLane (not Flame) 08-29-2008 08:23 AM

Ahhh geeze....I hope they are wrong.....I love winter but I hate when i go outside and my nostrils sticks together or my eye lashes....

O MARINA 08-29-2008 08:24 AM

When they're using words such as "catastrophic" it can't be good.

MetaMan 08-29-2008 08:25 AM

It sure sounds like we will be suffering each time we'll open the door!

dready 08-29-2008 08:39 AM

Good news, maybe it'll kill off some of the beetle infestations, refreeze the arctic a little, etc. Too cold for snow though, that'll suck.

Bryan G 08-29-2008 08:40 AM

Fuck off you ruined my weekend LOL

CDSmith 08-29-2008 08:45 AM

Won't be the first bad winter here, and won't be the last either.

Bring it on I say. Year-round warm weather is for WIMPS!

Iron Fist 08-29-2008 08:46 AM

I live in WInnipeg.... no one knows cold better than I do.. trust me... -40 is a REGULAR occurance every winter here. I think we had one day where we hit -56 with wind chill and my cars engine temperature wouldn't stay in the WARM region unless I was driving. Kinda scary, because if it broke down, I wouldn't last more than 15 minutes outside.

Isradude 08-29-2008 08:46 AM

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOT AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Dollarmansteve 08-29-2008 09:10 AM

the sour makes the sweet even sweeter? Or is that just a rationalization :P

I got that thin Ontario blood guys.. I can't deal with that on a regular basis.

HomerSimpson 08-29-2008 09:15 AM

-40 doesn't sound like global warming to me :)

Vegas Ken 08-29-2008 09:16 AM

Back to Back bad winters would suck.... sorry guys

BradM 08-29-2008 09:21 AM

Quagmire 08-29-2008 09:37 AM

I call bullshit on this one. Either its cold or it snows in Canada, not both. Once it drops below a certain temperature its too cold to snow.

Kenny B! 08-29-2008 09:38 AM

Bring it bitches, I have my winter tires, shovel, hat and gloves!

Twistys Tim 08-29-2008 10:10 AM

I hate winter in Toronto :(

Shoveling snow sucks!

A pic of me and my son last winter :) I bought the warmest and lightest coat I could for winter. The M65 Parka -- I highly recommend one for any Englishmen living in Canada!

Never been to Winterpeg I see. Here it warms up a little one day, snows a few feet, then the temp drops that night to -40.

There is no either/or here. It's both.

shake 08-29-2008 03:37 PM

sounds like it will be cold :(

Fucksakes 08-29-2008 03:52 PM

your car started at -56? lol, what model is that?

Martin 08-29-2008 06:08 PM

Hey Tim, the little guy seems to be enjoying it lol.

BlackCrayon 08-29-2008 06:12 PM

Municipalities are gonna be broke as shit if we get tons of snow again this winter.

The Sultan Of Smut 08-29-2008 07:02 PM

Ahhh whatever I used to work in the ag industry and I didn't know a single farmer that read the farmer's almanac, it's usually off by a bit.

After Shock Media 08-29-2008 07:17 PM

We all know the Farmers Almanac is wrong as often as it is right. Thing is a fucking joke.

Sorry man, i've seen it snow in -40 as well. Not heavy huge flakes type snow but blizzard type thin and cold and fuck kind of snow.. so it does happen :)

Hit me up in January when were in the deep freeze and i'll take some pics and video to prove it to you. :2 cents:

Yeah we have "block heaters" installed by default in Canada... so we plug in the car at night and it gives the engine just warm enough to keep the oil from freezing up, so it'll turn over the next morning.

I drive a Dodge SX 2.0 (same type as the Dodge Neon, just Canadian version). Bought it for the gas mileage to be honest and i'm thanking my lucky stars every damn day with gas at $1.35 a liter now.

Ironically enough global warming will not cause a nice even warming all over the planet, but instead it will cause exactly the situation the world has now- extreme temperature swings; stronger and more frequent hurricane activity due to the warmer equatorial oceans; melting ice caps and eventually a change in the salinity of the ocean that will potentially break the ocean current system which will cause truly catastrophic devastation across the globe.

Winnipeg is a warm hole, you should try Edmonton for one day in Winter so you know what the real one feels like

Mutt 08-29-2008 08:37 PM

haha - Canadians fighting over who has the coldest winter weather

if the Farmer's Almanac is saying it's going to be a bad winter it's a good sign it will be a mild one - seems to me they are always wrong.
