CunningStunt 08-29-2008 07:23 PM

I can't see him being elected, his name sounds too much like Osama.

tony286 08-29-2008 07:23 PM

Yes we can Yes we can

Shamus McFamous 08-29-2008 07:24 PM

McCain is a blithering idiot. Obama is not.

McCain's farts and the resulting marks are probably more interesting than he is.

Thankfully you live in Australia

Trixie 08-29-2008 07:25 PM

Yeah, people in other countries are under the impression Obama will win, no contest. I take it as a compliment that they are optimistic our country's voters aren't totally fucking retarded even when all signs pointed to that in the last election.

chodadog 08-29-2008 07:26 PM

McCain comes across internationally as being very bland and same same. Obama is refreshing. It's not surprising he gets more attention around the world. He has a sort of celebrity status about him.

McCain doesn't wear enough flair. He only chooses to wear the minimum amount of flair. It's sad really. :(

I'm asking why, because it seems like a one horse race to those outside of the US. I've seen McCain once on tv here, ever. I know nothing about him or his policies whatsoever.

That gif always cracks me up, however drunk I am.

It's been a 1 horse race since 1960 :thumbsup

If you were from the USA, you would certainly understand...

This is gonna be a landslide victory for Obama....

Who would you rather have a beer with while chasing chicks?

It can be that simple sometimes.

Plus Obama seems much smarter than McCain and it's not even close.

The thing with McCain for me is I can't get past that face twitch he does. Pay attention to him in his next appearance and watch for it. I keep waiting for him to start having POW flashbacks and snap and either a)Take off all his clothes and quack like a duck or 2) Just start killing motherfuckers. Can you see him flipping out on national TV and just pounding Condi Rice in the skull with the podium until her head looks like a month old Jack-O-Lantern? Not good for PR.

CheeseFrog 08-29-2008 07:59 PM

This is going to be the OJ Simpson trial all over again. Everybody thinks they know the outcome, but when the votes are tallied, McCain is going to win. Just watch and see.

Where did you hear that? Every person I know from a foreign land thinks McCain FTW. Pretty surprised Obama even got the nod.

It should be, but there's still lots of people who won't admit that they will not vote for a black man.

I hear that; but I predicted that the main cop (Mark Furhman) would be charged with
a crime within the first 3 weeks of the OJ trial. He got tried and convicted of perjury.
(actually, not a trial. He pleaded "no contest" to the conviction).

If McCain can actually win then I would say that America is really full of a lot of phonies
because all the signs comming from the people point to Obama winning this by a nice margin.

In my opinion, those same people would rather vote for a black man, than having a VP that's a woman.

I was happy to see McCain pick Palin for that reason alone.

From my members in foreign lands, but mostly the UK.

OY 08-29-2008 08:31 PM

Because most of the rest of the world, at least in EU that I have noticed while there, WANTS Obama to win. They are fed up with the Republicans at this point in time and want it changed. Besides, they think it is refreshing to see that the US maybe finally can change their ways and vote for the "underdog" - which was Obama from the start.

I just did my third donation to the Obama campaign.

It could perhaps be due to the outrageous Pro-Obama coverage displayed over here in the states. The national networks are so far up his butt that it is unreal. You could turn on Katie Curic any night of the week and be greeted with a pro Obama story that was at least 3 times longer than a McCain story (the one on McCain would be either neutral or negative).

It seems almost like a cult over here. Drink the Kool Aid and you'll be an Obama zombie!

Your actually very wrong. There was a study and despite Obama recieving 3 times the air time over Mccain, 70% percent of that coverage was negative. I have personally listened to dumb ass Curic bad mouth Obama in off the cuff ways.

Cause the world hates Bush. And Obama is the Anti-Bush.

If Gore or even McCain had been President the last eight years, noone outside the US would give a fuck about Obama.

CyberHustler 08-29-2008 11:46 PM

Most of the EU are socialists who love high taxes and Obama is a socialist who loves high taxes.

It's not too hard to figure out ?

Socks 08-30-2008 01:37 AM

Because all the people who live outside the USA have more faith in the American people than to think they'd actually vote for someone in the same party as Bush to run for a third fucking consecutive term.

If you haven't noticed - the last 8 years have been pretty ridiculous.

Slight correction to your post. Obama is a Marxist. Socialism is a societal model under Marxism. It is a rest stop on the way to communism.

Obama's viewpoints are almost entirely based on various far left ideologies and movements. The problem with all far left candidates is they can not articulate their plans to the masses or no one would vote for them. So their plans are veiled behind slogans and 'feel good' assumptions of their intentions.

If he is elected, which the odds are low, he will serve one term like his mentor Jimmy Carter. Over the next 2 months it will become painfully clear to the voters of the US that he is fluff and the substance is too painful to the lifestyle of most US citizens.

Let us not forget that every whack job (except for Mussolini) dictator/mass cleanser was a left wing politician. Adolf Hitler, Che Guevara/Fidel, Pol Pot, Stalin, Mao Zedong, etc. All of them started with the nationalistic pride, "Power to the People" - "si se puede (yes, we can)", and all of them ended up doing the same thing... power grabs, oppression, and mass exterminations of the "non-believers".

No, I am not saying that Obama is PolPot/Hitler.

bp4l-xp 08-30-2008 02:09 AM

Obama is a strange guy
He doesn't represent the black population of US (his roots are Muslim, not christian), he is semi-black, has a muslim father and his name is very very similar to Osama. If he wins, and most likely he will win, it will only demonstrate the power of the Media that can be exerted over the US public.

And to answer the original post, Americans don't care about what anyone says outside of the USA, only the local media matters. Those educated types, the ones that listen to NPR and the BBC, are very few.

P.S. I'm one of those that listens to NPR.
