ION USB turntable - direct to PC recording
Recently picked up an ION USB turntable that enables direct recording via USB to a PC.
Sweet little unit. I'm finally able to start converting all my favorite old vinyl to MP3s. Anyone else checked these units out? Opinions? |

Although I replaced many of the vinyl over the year with cd copies - many of the old albums were never issued on compact disc (or are very hard to find). |
Wow. Now I can get all of the pop and hiss from my soundblaster that I used to need an external amp for. :thumbsup

don't know what you're talking about, but bump
|
uhhhhh
Nothing personal Silent, but turntables have always been "direct to PC"... It's called an "audio cable" ? :) |
Technics has a new digital recordless turntable, wouldn't allow you to get your records recorded, but it's pretty fucking sweet nonetheless. :)

However, for the most part I've kept the collection in good shape over the years...only a few of them were party casualties back in the day. And secondly, there's quite a few 'obscure' ones that simply weren't released on compact disc format - and unavailable on any P2Ps. There's a ton of software out there too that does a fairly decent job of filtering out the pop and hiss if you know how to tweak the recordings. The ION itself comes with Audacity (a freeware app - not the greatest but it gets the job done). |
