We are preparing to evacuate.
To those who contact me regularly or anyone concerned or are in the process of doing business with me, please understand we are awaiting mandatory evacuation orders and I am having to leave my home office for an undisclosed amount of time at the moment. I may not have an internet connection for a few days, if all goes to plan we should have internet and I will post an update in this thread if possible. Although the storm may not be a direct hit here, the way it looks right now, no one is taking chances after it gets in the Gulf.
We are about to start loading up the vehicle, and coordinating this evacuation with 3 other car loads of family and friends. In regards to personal stuff, we are safe, we have had a plan in place, we boarded up the windows, all is good - which is why we are leaving. I will post an update as soon as I can. (this was types in haste, as I am about to unplug this computer and get going) I will be taking my laptop and will aim to continue business as I can, but at this time, the evacuation is the priority. |
good luck to you both
|
As Hillary would say, God speed.
|
Wow, that got strong fast. A cat 3 (almost a cat 4) and not in the Gulf yet. Looks like they expect it to turn left near landfall which will screw up a lot more people's lives as it brushes the coast. Drive safe - it is going to be bumper to bumper traffic heading out.

Be safe and good luck! Glad you are getting out!
Everyone should wish Billy well too. Billy from JBM will be working during the hurricane as he did in Katrina! |
I am also running from the storm as of tomorrow morning. I know how you feel. I'm in Texas and hoping that it doesn't head towards us. But I'm afraid that we are going to get hit also. I live right by the state line.
Good luck and I hope you and your family are safe!! |
Really glad to read you guys are going to be/are by now somewhere safe.

Good luck to you, your family and all in the path of Gustav.
