When is it appropriate to do a donation thread?

I have never done one, and want to get some landscaping done. It isn't a huge amount, but if I could get GFY to pay for it . . .

I'd shoot for a pool...

I don't really have room for a pool as the room addition (done before I bought it) eliminated a good portion of the area a pool might go in. However, if the donations are good enough I guess I could add a hot tub and gazebo.

Brujah 09-01-2008 01:04 PM

Someone should start a donation thread for that poor Bristol Palin and her baby.

RevengeBucks_Monica 09-01-2008 01:11 PM

Dude, with enough donations you could just knock down the neighbor's house and put in a pool! :)

borked 09-01-2008 01:29 PM

I donate the water to fill the pool for which there is no space*.

borked 09-01-2008 01:31 PM

*said water may or may not be suitable for human bathing.

I'm in the middle of redoing my backyard... If I could get GFY to foot the bill that'd be awesome :thumbsup

I like the way you think. It has been on the market for quite a while so I can probably lowball them. I could make a pretty sweet setup by adding that property.

We can work together on this. I don't have a problem with that.

Have a landscaping party... Invite a bunch of people over, have some good food, beer, herbs... And everyone work on the landscaping...

My friends and I have done several themed parties like that... Additions, bathrooms, kitchens... Putting up swimming pools... They work out great!

I really don't remember what the gripe was. I used to help raise funds for the United Way and the Red Cross was one of the organizations you could designate your donations to. I was pretty shocked that the Red Cross had so many against it, but it was rather common.

It got to the point that I stopped mentioning them and used USO as an alternative if I was talking to any vets.

tony286 09-01-2008 02:26 PM

pass a hat around at the atl forum, Ill throw in a couple bucks :)

As far as I know, the Red Cross supports active duty personnel as well as veterans with blood drives and other assistance.

My gardener would do the labor. That part is the cheap part. It is the sprinkler system and new sod that the cost comes in. Well, except for the tree trimming, and I don't think I want a bunch of high people climbing +30' trees.

Yeah, I am sure they do. As I recall they earned their disdain long ago.

Didn't you just buy a new car? Don't you have like 2 or 3 cars AND a Harley?

Don't you own MANY... MANY internet businesses?

And you still need help with landscaping? I'm sorry baddog, but that's kinda overstepping your bounds a little. You should be dying or dead before you can post something like this. I mean, you're fuckin old but no where near death.

oh fuck it. How much do you need? Is 30k enough? Just let me know if you need more.

Only have one car, and it is almost three years old. Gotta few bikes.

30k should be able to handle my plans and fuzebox's as well. Thanks much :thumbsup

Fuzebox is going to misappropriate the funds and use it to fix his jeep.

That's okay, Redshoe is donating $30k. There will be plenty left for misappropriation.
