Please give opinions. He says everyone has different tastes and I think he means that he thought they were good. It's for a nubiles tube script.

And let me set up what happened. First I paid Jon $70 to make me a logo - it just had to say Moe's Porn Reviews is all and then another one with Moe's Porn where he could have written Porn the same way. The logos that he submitted are these (not horrible but something I easily could out-do in Photoshop in about 3 minutes.)

So then I told him that they weren't good and I realized that this guy was all talk, but I was still willing to give him a chance. So I asked him to make me a blog theme, and he said it would be ready in a few days, then in a few days asked me what colors I wanted to use. I told him and then he told me that he was doing a bunch of tube site designs and he could do one of those for me instead of a blog.

Figuring this guy is offering this over a blog - he must be good at it - I decided what the hell so I told him to go ahead with the tube site. That was on August 24th, and then the next few days he started telling me that I needed to install the script first, and then told me that he needed access to the script files. Usually I would bring the domain to it's own user for that designer, but this guy had already wasted so much of my time with nothing to show for it that I wasn't about to do that and I told him to just do it on his own install and send me the template files.

I don't mean to start drama, but I see this guy going from thread to thread talking like he's king shit and I don't like to see that kind of BS when I know that he's the furthest thing away from it.

Cliff notes version:

Paid for logo, logo sucked, asked for blog theme, told he could do a tube design, said ok, tube design sucked.

Conclusion:

I have a feeling that Jon Clark just outsources his work, and I say that because when I hire people off of GetAFreelancer, this is the exact kind of shitty work I get from them.

Your designs are horrible. You took tons of time doing things and had no idea about designing, you even admitted that yourself.

I ended up letting Jon keep the money because I felt bad for him and I felt bad for the Indian(?) guy he hired to get the work done.

Yeah for sure, the one that came with the script was leaps and bounds better than the one Jon made.

Even that logo that was made in probably 5 minutes looks 10x better than the ones he made for me :(

You originally hired me to do a same day logo, which we did, and even gave you several drafts... You got pissy, but I kept my cool and came back with more drafts.. Then you started talking something about a blog, this and that, to make up for the logos...

And being a idiot I agreed to give you more design for the same 70 bucks... And then you never gave me details.. Finally I get the details and also let you know about the tube special.... You said go for it... I told you that night to install the script... days later after you hitting me up several times telling me you were sorry for the delay with half the info I needed.... We produced a nice design.. again you were not feeling it, so we came up with two more drafts... Got all pissy again and it was over...


About your 70, good thing you said keep it, because I wasn't planning on giving it back to you...

I paid the designers to do the work... They did the work, they get paid, that is how I work!

I do not refund anyone... No one!


BTW, congrats on being the second client out of hundreds we could not satisfy...

I actually do like the logos but like you said its nothing you couldnt have done yourself. But theyre not bad. The tube design though is fecking horrible.

We have a problem... Straight from designer.. jon i tried to find the css for the templates but i think the only way to edit the css is in the ftp... there is no option to edit the templates, unlike the vbulletin they have a way to edit a ccs in admin panel...

You should have known that by now. When they have a big mouth, and call people out, does that make them good? No, it just tells them how pathetic they are.

those logos are like something a kid in school would make when just learning how to use photoshop

The work posted in this represents the quality of work we do... We have lots of happy customers, everyone has different taste.. No big deal.. There is not one design ever created that every person likes..

Jon Clark you owe the man $70.00 it is illegal to keep money if a customer is unsatisfied with your work. Granted in this case he told you to keep it. I have paid affilliates and still had to refund money when someone complained, that is what it takes to run a good honest business......

Ever seen ads, for example, that say "Hardrives for $40", do you think those are the best harddrives they have? Or do you think maybe the idea is to get you to interested, then actually pay more for something better?

If you are expecting some superior logo for $70, you have not done your research.

Although, I do agree that if you don't like what he did, you should get your money back. But those logos look pretty good to me for $70, and I've been in the graphic design business for 15 years.

Because I've paid way less than $70 for logos that were way better and made me tons of money (yes, just the logo). Unfortunately these people quickly realize they can make more charging more and they disappear after a few projects and I'm off to find another designer.

The fact that you pay more means that you're getting ripped off/getting suckered because you can get the work for less.

I didn't want my money back, he did the work, he just did a shitty job. To me my 'research' is actually seeing what people can do, not just talking about it.

IMO it's too bad when the stock themes are better than the ones getting designed for you.

just because the outsourced designers work for you full time doesnt mean they arnt $500/month newbie filipinos
