A Peaceful End to a Wonderful 3 Day Weekend - NOT

My labor day weekend was really great. I got to spend time with my girlfriends having some much needed fun, I caught up on a ton of work, and I got to have some drinks at the beach with my friends Baddog and Buddy. My neighbor Sam showed up, we all chatted then it was time to leave. Then it hit...Baddog and Buddy offered to drive us home and as we were turning on to my street, we see police and lots of police cars. A neighbor tells us to get in our houses immediately, someone is on the loose. My evening has been spent living in a mini armageddon. Lots of police, rifles drawn - more than once, backyard inspections, lots of yelling, bullhorns blazing and the beloved helicopter, and spotlight, beaming into all the windows. It's going to be a very long night.

Thankfully, we had a nice time and a couple of margaritas before coming home to this. Oh, and our waitress had some kind of chemical induced breakdown while we were at the restaurant. Good Times Good Times

What did you all do for the weekend?

I worked up until this afternoon when my friend Pamieb asked me if I wanted to meet her at the beach for drinks.

Not being a fool, I took her up on the offer. Little did I know that she was setting me up to have to run the gauntlet to get her home and then escape.

LOL - what a waste of 2 perfectly good margaritas and a tiny little buzz

Do you live next to a prison and does this happen frequently? did they catch the escapee?

candyflip 09-01-2008 09:40 PM

I was up in the mountains of Mass with the family. We had a huge campout with close to 100 people. There were dirt bikes, big telescopes, rafting in the river, the hottest fire I've ever felt and 4 nights of the shittiest sleep that I've had in years followed by a 6 hour drive home.

We had a blast.

I don't. I live in a great beach community in Los Angeles and a really quiet neighborhood. I'm still trying to find out if they caught the guy or not. There's still police on our street, but the helicopters have stopped - finally.

Nice. I miss going to Mass in the summer. Lots of great seafood....little neck clams...and polish clambakes (yes, I'm polish) Sounds like you had a blast! Not the drive part though.

Damn gurl, that's crazy! I was wondering what happened to you, one second you were texting me, the next you were gone! Glad you are okay!

PamiebDVD 09-01-2008 10:26 PM

My girl's family is part polish and that part sure did represent. :thumbsup

Someone came down from Maine and brought fresh lobster that they picked up for like $4 a pound. I don't eat the stuff, but everyone managed to rip through about 100 pounds in an afternoon...including all the stuff you mentioned above too!

Oh, now you're just rubbing it in. :( We don't get good Maine lobster out here.

See, to me it was just 100 pounds of garbage...so sleep well knowing that there was no ill intent. :winkwink:

:):):)
Is it bad that I had a dream about eating the 100 lbs. of lobster?

RedShoe 09-02-2008 04:59 AM

I worked my ass off for 2 different clients. I remember waking up sometime on Saturday and then passing out Monday morning. I woke up around 4 on Monday and have been up ever since.

PamiebDVD 09-02-2008 05:22 AM

ouch! I'd say good morning, but that seems inappropriate - since you've been up 24 hours now.

This is exactly why I moved out of Phoenix. One shot out car window, dead next door neighbor and first name basis with the cops, time to move on.
