Would you get pissed if?
Ok, here's my deal....
We have the opportunity to use one of those smart ai's to appear and try to pick up exit traffic and convert it. The chat itself doesn't start until the surfer attempts to leave the site. Here's my problem.. Since the surfer is now leaving the site (assuming they don't wanna make a purchase) is it wrong that their affiliate code can't be passed through this chat onto the join page, if the surfer has a change of thought after talking to this AI. How do you feel about that? As a program owner, and as an affiliate. |
bump for you

I say the affiliate code should still be used..
It is still my surfer leaving or not.. Once he gets to your page it's your marketing doing the sale.. it just happens your last attempt on MY surfer worked.. |
True... but if there is no way to track the affiliates code through the chat...
|
As an affiliate, I'd be pissed as it's a traffic leak.
However, as a program owner/manager, they get a higher PPS for the consoles - if one doesn't convert on their code, or it's to/through a third party, there isn't a lot that I can do about that. If it was for internal sales, as this case, there's got to be an easy way to stuff a new variable through their system to promo back; hell, if it's NATS, you retain the session data, so the affiliate should get credit. If it's under my control, my affiliates will not have to worry about leaks. |
We worked with the company your probably talking to and the can in fact pass the affiliate code. We did it and it worked fine and the affiliates still got paid on it.

Saying the app won't pass the ref ID is nonsense. Find a programmer that can make it happen.
You're not going to get a webmaster to say "Shaving sounds good to me!" |
